Glad I left home at 6.20am and -7C to beat the train strike and get to court in time to meet my client for a 10am sentence hearing - which the court has now moved to 3pm because the prison didn't bring my client to court and the court's prison video link is broken.

Today is probably as good a day as any to remind us of the extraordinary coincidence that the following were all born on the 23rd March.

Sir Steve Redgrave
Sir Mo Farrah
Sir Chris Hoy

Crocodile tears. All of these politicians - Buckland, Patel, Johnson - openly supported the defunding of criminal justice that led directly to this situation.
We have begged you for *years* to fix it. You refused, cynically calculating that the public wouldn’t notice.
Shameful.

Twitter please help. I have a mint October 1964 AC30 which I cannot sell for the price it’s worth. So I’ve bet my wife that I can give it away to J Page, D Gilmour or J Beck. Absolutely no strings. I’d rather it was with someone who would appreciate it. Collection only. Lincs UK.

How can you protest en masse against a Government, when you can’t get together and march on London? Asking for a nation.
As a self-employed person who has had zero help from the government since March, I’d love someone to give me two thirds of my 2019 income. Stop moaning.
I know nothing about Art. But went to the Ferens Gallery in Hull today. Saw this. Meredith Frampton - A Game of Patience - 1937. Blew me away. How can you make colour like this with no brush strokes whatsoever? Photo doesn’t do it justice. Up close, no strokes at all. Amazing.

Watching the UK Internal Markets Bill debate is like watching series 7 of the box set having forgotten what went on in series 1-4. Looks like they shouldn’t have killed off Theresa May in series 5.

Shout out for help from foreign lawyers:
Does your country have a time limit within which people held in custody have to be tried?
Are your jury trials back to anything like normal?
What measures have you put in place to run jury trials during COVID?
Thanks in advance.
In his latest ruling, HHJ Raynor really doesn’t pull any punches in respect of the MoJ’s wholly inadequate response to the COVID crisis. To read this from a serving judge, is really quite extraordinary. Good on him.
