Politicians do themselves no favours jeering and mocking in a way that you wouldn’t tolerate in a playground let alone in the House of Commons for heavens sake. It’s a budget not panto should be treated with the gravitas it deserves. #Budget2026 #politics

The govt should find 100 small things that piss people off & fix em, such as…
Ta to @politico for the vid, at its Labour fringe event, I explained that as big changes take time, govts should also have a team focused on small winnable change.
What little fixes'd you want?
£4.50 for ketchup? I paid £1 yesterday in Tesco. Reform won’t be privatising everything? What is she on about @gmb it’s rent prices that’s the real problem and the threat of eviction for a relatively small amount of arrears its frightening the job reform have done on her

Good morning!
With so much in the world to make you angry and upset, it's worth remembering that most people are good and kind, and are quietly going about their day performing unsung acts of heroism and generosity of spirit.
Thank you to everyone who is feeding their visiting wildlife, and to those supporting and encouraging them. And I can never thank enough those who support me and the hospital here, by kind word or deed, and by providing supplies and help towards the costs of medicines, etc.
You are all incredible, wonderful people, and I hope you feel proud of yourselves.❤️

Have a wonderful weekend.
Another busy 🧵 on carers group where banks have denied knowledge of their own appointee accounts… PLEASE help @HSBC_UK @Barclays @LloydsBank @santanderuk @NatWest_Help train your staff!! Carers being fobbed off & left confused just trying to do the basics #DisabilityTwitter
I agree this was absolutely stunning @GarethSouthgate @BBC I was glued to it. Absolutely brilliant.
Just watched Sir Gareth Southgate deliver The Richard Dimbleby Lecture 2025 on @BBCOne . It is utterly outstanding - superbly composed , brilliantly delivered , compelling , bold and true . Its really is what we pay our licence fee for . You can watch it here . . . bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0…
Thank you @LordBlunkett
Heading to Parliament later to listen to @LordBlunkett raise a question in the House of Lords about Child Trust Fund access. Scheduled for 3.00pm today.
Can’t thank him and other Peers enough for their support to help thousands of young people enjoy their savings.

Hedgehogs eat caterpillars, beetles, larvae, and a few insects.
They DON'T eat slugs and snails, they are not on their menu no matter who tells you, or how much you trust them to be right about other things.
Of course you might occasionally see this because an animal dying of hunger will eat anything to stop the pain. Starving children are seen eating mud, but that doesn't mean mud is on the human menu.
Our hedgehogs are dying of starvation because we've destroyed their habitat and natural food.
Common sense alone will tell you that if hedgehogs really did eat slugs, they would be fat and flourishing and would never need to hibernate for lack of food!😋
We all have plenty of slugs!
So if you see this myth anywhere, please challenge it.
Educate them.
For hog's sake.
Exactly this! Please someone tell Minah!
I need someone to let it slip to Minah that Charlotte is saying her name. My girl CANNOT go out like this #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUK

Thousands of disabled children face a combined loss of £200m+ from their savings. Expecting their parents to go through a complex and expensive court process for one small savings account isn’t working. It’s time for change.
My letter to the new Courts minister @sarahsackman.
I want a strictly backstage segment where we see Dave Arch’s face when they say “right and then Basement Jaxx….” #StrictlyComeDancing
One U16 boys semi finalist and one U16 girls WINNER!!!! Gloucestershire Schools Table tennis @ChosenHillPE @ChosenHillSch #TableTennis
Grateful to @JoshBabarinde @LibDems for raising the Child Trust Fund issue in Parliament today.
Equally grateful for the positive response from @Heidi_Labour @labour. Offering a ray of hope that thousands of disabled young people will be able to benefit from their savings. 🙏🏻
