I know it's just a video game, but for so many of us who grew up with GTA, this feels like the end of an entire chapter of our lives. GTA V isn't going anywhere. Los Santos will still be there, and GTA Online will still be playable. But for many of us, November will mark the moment we finally move on from a game that has been part of our lives for 13 years. It's such a weird feeling knowing GTA 6 is just ONE MONTH away. 🥹 I've spent thousands of hours in GTA V and GTA Online. I started playing at just 10 years old, alongside my friends. Through countless replays, heists, random adventures, and late-night sessions, I've done almost everything there is to do in Los Santos. When I first played GTA as a kid, I barely even understood English. As I grew older, every replay meant something different. I started understanding the adult themes, the satire, and the details Rockstar had woven into these games. In a strange way, I grew up alongside them. But the memories I made with my friends will always mean the most to me. I know the streets of Los Santos better than the place I actually live. Almost every corner of that map holds a memory of some random night spent in a party call with my best friends. We were just playing games, laughing, doing stupid things, and having fun. We had no idea we were creating memories we'd carry with us for the rest of our lives. Los Santos became our third place. Somewhere we could always return to, no matter what was happening in our lives. And somehow, we always did. No matter how many new games came out, we always found our way back to GTA Online. Recently, those exact same friends and I returned for one more heist, hoping to make a few final memories before moving on. Thirteen years later, we're all 23. We don't go to the same school anymore. We don't sit in the same classrooms. We've grown into adults, each following a different path in life. Yet somehow, we're still here, playing games together just like we did when we were kids. And on November 18, we'll get together one more time in Los Santos before stepping into the world of GTA VI. This time, we'll be leaving behind a world that has been part of our lives for more than half of them. Now, we're about to enter Leonida, explore a new Vice City, and follow Jason and Lucia into a brand-new chapter of the Grand Theft Auto universe. Maybe we'll spend the next decade making the same kinds of memories all over again. I hope we do. GTA V and GTA Online were never perfect games. But for me, they were the perfect sandboxes to spend thousands of hours in, to escape into another world, and to make memories with people who matter to me.
