The DWISS S1 has won a 2026 Australian Good Design Award in the Product Design, Sport and Lifestyle category. 🇦🇺
Since 1958, the Australian Good Design Awards have been Australia's longest-running international design awards. An independent jury of more than 100 Australian and international design experts judges every project on three criteria: Good Design, Design Innovation and Design Impact. This year's theme is Design that Leads.
The @GoodDesignAus jury said:
"The Jury recognises the DWISS S1 for its elegant design and harmonious craftsmanship, where every detail, from screws to embossed elements and part lines has been thoughtfully integrated into a unified object. The watch demonstrates how good design can add meaningful value to a classic product category while maintaining responsible manufacturing principles."
So what makes the S1 different?
People first read time from the sky, by watching a body rise, cross and set. The S1 brings that way of reading back to the wrist.
Each hour appears on the left of an arc on the upper dial and travels across the top. It sets on the right as the next hour rises behind it. The numeral is also the minute pointer: where it sits on the arc tells you the minute. You read hour and minute from one moving point, not from two hands. Seconds turn on the central disc.
The design idea shaped the whole watch:
The wandering hours module was designed and built by DWISS. A modified La Joux-Perret G100 Soigné drives it, with 68 hours of power reserve.
The case is cushion-shaped because the arc needed width.
The footprint is 40 mm across and 44 mm lug to lug, to offset the height the module adds.
The steel is sand blasted with brushed lugs, so the light stays on the moving discs.
It is water resistant to 100 m.
It comes in six colourways, limited to 50 pieces per colour.
Designed by Rafael Simões Miranda. Swiss Made.
Thank you to Good Design Australia and the jury. See you at the ceremony on Friday 9 October at ICC Sydney.
Any watch can tell time. DWISS tells it differently.

Driven by the Dial, TOMORROW IN LONDON!
The A1 shows the quieter side of the same idea. A clean dial, an integrated case, and a direct reading of time, but still designed from the face outward.
For DWISS, the dial is never the last decision. It is where the watch begins.
In London this Saturday, September 19th, from 12 PM, we will show why the face of the watch can carry the whole story.

A small pause can change the whole rhythm of a day. The S1 brings that pause to the wrist by letting the hour travel across the dial instead of sitting still, so reading time feels less automatic and more alive. It is a current DWISS model, but the feeling is old-fashioned in the best way: attention returning to the hand, the eye, and the moment.

Some watches make the day feel less automatic the moment they touch the wrist. The M3S brings that pause into focus, letting the hour appear through its mysterious hours display instead of a familiar set of hands. It feels like a small reset for attention, useful when the day is moving fast and one glance can still feel chosen, personal, and fully awake.

A good watch can change the way a day feels without asking for attention. That is the DWISS idea I keep coming back to: a glance that becomes a pause, a dial that makes time feel less automatic, and a wrist moment that belongs to the person wearing it. The object is small, but the shift can be surprisingly personal, turning routine into something noticed rather than skipped.

There is a clean steadiness in a watch that makes movement feel more deliberate. The A1 brings that feeling to the wrist with an integrated bracelet, textured dial, and clear three-hand display, keeping the day legible without flattening its pace. It feels ready for the quiet decisions between leaving, arriving, and looking once more before you move, still present.

Every archive has a different kind of energy: not nostalgia, but the feeling that a design had its moment and still knows how to hold the eye. An archived DWISS piece carries that quiet pull on the wrist, reminding us that time can be read as memory as much as measurement. Once sold out, the design becomes part of the brand's living record.

Some watches leave their strongest feeling after they disappear from the catalogue. An archived DWISS piece carries that kind of presence: the memory of a dial that asked for attention, a case shaped by its time, and a wrist moment that cannot simply be ordered again. Once sold out, these designs become part of the brand's living archive on the wrist.

A strange idea gets stronger when collectors are allowed into the room. DWISS built the Watch Design Club around that belief, then let members help shape the M3, a Swiss made watch that reads hours from the outside in. It feels less like a launch and more like proof that design can be a conversation. Archived edition. Sold out, never re-issued.

There is a distinct pleasure in a watch that lets time unfold at its own pace, inviting you to notice the hour rather than glance past it. The wandering hours display turns the dial into a quiet stage where numerals appear when needed, turning an everyday action into something more deliberate and human.
