Terrific @nanopore sequencing workshop at @AS_Para #CiP2023 course by @neily1101 @LucasHuggins3 @Kirsty_m_McCann and @DoctorBaz and @Dylan_Corner. Lots of bright green pores, sequencing never-seen-before parasite DNA – at Dunwich, Queensland
Had a great time presenting my work on root-knot nematode diagnostics at the #2023APPSAdelaide conference. A lot of really thought provoking presentations and posters at the conference.

Pratylenchus coffeae is a root-dwelling nematode that infects and causes severe damage to many species of crop plants.
🌱🌿
This study looked at the effects of this nematode on the Benthi, a plant commonly used in studies on plant-diseases

Some biologists refer to octopuses as having six “arms” and two “legs”, because the two rear appendages are generally used to walk on the seafloor. #SealifeSaturday 🌊

Have you tried this experiment? 🧪🔬
Have you ever tried to collect some random pond snails and expose them to the sunlight? You will be surprised how many parasites you will find. It is also a great activity for students during field trips 🏞
