The key message: HEMS benefit is multifactorial. Counting procedures is important, but incomplete. The wider contribution of senior decision-making, crew support, complex scene leadership and patient advocacy deserves better measurement.

1/ New from @EAAARAID in @SJTREM: observational review of Penthrox for prehospital fracture/dislocation manipulation & reduction in HEMS practice. In selected limb trauma, methoxyflurane supported successful M&R without IV procedural sedation in more than half of patients.

8/ Overall, these data suggest methoxyflurane can be a useful, low-logistics option to facilitate prehospital limb injury reduction in selected trauma patients, while potentially reducing the need for IV procedural sedation and preserving HEMS resource for other critical tasks.
