DAY 5 – FIVE DAYS TO GO! Nikiongozi gani unadai? The conversation starts with you. As the country looks towards 2027, the conversation must go beyond political slogans, party loyalties and campaign promises. We need leaders who demonstrate integrity, competence, accountability and a genuine commitment to serving the public. Through the Inuka Angaza Kura Platform, we are allowing citizens to nominate leaders they believe can offer the leadership Kenya deserves. This is a chance for wananchi to identify, amplify, and shape the conversation around alternative leadership. #InukaAngazaKura #NisisiKenya

An important conversation also emerged around institutionalising wellness within media organisations through safe spaces, psychosocial support and newsroom practices that acknowledge the pressures and trauma associated with journalism.

As Kenya approaches the 2027 General Election, protecting the wellbeing of journalists is not optional. A resilient media sector requires not only safety and professional support but also environments where those documenting the country's realities can thrive.

And now, a moment to slow down, breathe and reconnect with nature. Surrounded by a serene environment, we’re taking in the fresh air, embracing the calm and giving ourselves room to simply be. Because sometimes, caring for our mental wellbeing starts with stepping away from the noise and being present in the moment. Here at Wellness Wednesday, we’re making space for that much-needed pause. #WellnessWednesday #MentalWellbeing

WHY WELLNESS WEDNESDAY? Creating change in our communities starts with people, and people need care, rest and space to recharge. At Inuka Kenya Ni Sisi, we recognise that mental and physical wellbeing are essential to sustaining the people who show up every day to make a difference. Wellness Wednesday creates that space a moment to pause, reconnect with ourselves and each other, and remember that caring for our wellbeing is not a luxury; it is part of how we sustain the work we do.

In our last colouring exercise, we asked participants how the experience made them feel. Their reflections reminded us that wellness can begin with the simplest things: slowing down, expressing ourselves, connecting with others, and making time for ourselves. #WellnessWednesday
