If you elect politicians who subscribe to extreme anti-car views, you are going to get the implementation of extreme anti-car policy that sees potentially lethal road damage deliberately not repaired.
🚨NEW: An inquest has heard Lib Dem-run Cambridgeshire council received 127 complaints about a pothole in a 60mph zone before it killed two teenagers

Fascinating watching leftist female hypocrisy on the subject of sex crimes against women/girls. When it suits their political agenda, they're up in arms in performative outrage, happy to accuse any bloke within a one-mile radius of being a rapist, even though all the evidence is that he didn't rape anyone (Cornell University). But when it doesn't suit the political worldview, it's just no big deal, 'sure the slag wasn't asking for it?', and dismissed as part and parcel of living in modern society (Britain as viewed by the female editor of The Economist).

It’s exactly this. If you don’t declare war on Whitehall, it is certainly going to declare war on you. And it’s a fight to the death.
Replying to @DouglasCarswell
Above all, no fiscal plan survives contact with Whitehall unless you take control of the machine first. Close departments, curb the quangos, rein in judicial activism. Take a sledgehammer to the Whitehall machine - or be just another failed administration ....

Pitiful. If you play their game according to their rules, you will lose. It’s set up that way. But Farage can’t help himself, so he always loses.
Car crash alert 🚨 Sally Nugent asks Nigel Farage about Raheem Kassam's “Nigerian scammer” comments on Kemi Badenoch and his response is painful to watch. #bbcbreakfast

A country with government as small minded as this just isn’t going to make it.
🚨NEW: Andy Burnham has announced that import tariffs will be removed on more than 100 products, including things like baked beans, chocolate and gherkins, to save households an estimated £21 on their food shop per year

We're at the point where regime media is extolling the virtue of the regime removing import taxes on marmalade - in a country that makes most of the marmalade it consumes - which tells us that Britain's late-era-Soviet-Union feel is only increasing to a new level.
Chancellor John Healey will remove import taxes on marmalade, gherkins and more than 100 products in a move to give families "breathing space" with the cost of living in the Budget. Peter Ruddick told #BBCBreakfast about other changes that will impact motorists, carers and self-employed fathers bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c6d9…

What I can tell you confidently is that the word "smoke" could be replaced here by numerous other things that he doesn't approve of and wants banned, because authoritarian busybodies always have a list of such things that is as long as your arm.

As he lives large off your taxes with a salary and pension you can only dream of, schemes behind the scenes to promote the regime’s political agenda, and sends his thick, thuggish officers round to your home to investigate you for political speech crimes, he then pops up on regime media to describe himself as a ‘public servant’.
“This is a vile world to be a public servant in.” The Met Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley speaks out after a female Muslim police officer - who was recognised at the Police Federation Conference yesterday - has received online abuse.

The British regime hates the internet/social media because its oppressive and petty behaviour now reaches a worldwide audience. The days when a few calls to Fleet St editors could bury a story the regime didn't like are long gone, and the regime seethes with fury because of it.

We have all now seen the confident stupidity and ideologically-driven ignorance of Jeevun Sandher MP. He has only a distant relationship with what one might call the real world, yet proudly presents himself as an economist and tells everyone he used to work at HM Treasury. If you ever ask yourself why Britain is failing as a nation, the presence of Mr Sandher - and all those just like him - in Westminster and Whitehall is the answer.

HM Treasury despises entrepreneurship and would have hired this person purely for cynical window-dressing purposes.
🚨 NEW: The Government’s entrepreneurship adviser has quit ahead of the Budget “We treat [innovation and entrepreneurship] as a bit of a sideshow... that mentality is really dangerous for British business as a whole”

The people in Loughborough who voted for this cretin should be ashamed of themselves.
Nope, that’s not how taxes and price works. The price is determined by demand and supply. Companies charge the highest price they can given demand. A tax levied on *profits* does not affect a company’s cost ie supply. Taxes on *windfall* profits (like oil and gas) are the most efficient kind of tax there is.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Corporate profit taxes do not directly shift marginal costs but empirical studies show partial pass-through into higher consumer prices. Windfall taxes on oil and gas have deterred investment and production in practice despite theoretical efficiency on rents. dadun.unav.edu/server/api/cor… ecb.europa.eu/pub/pdf/scpwps… taxfoundation.org/blog/big-oil-p… scottishfinancialreview.com/2025/09/03/win…

To people pushing the CANZUK alliance, I fail to see what we gain by getting closer to our ridiculous, compromised, corrupted colonial cousins. We have enough problems of our own.
New 30 km/h area speed limit signs will be posted at neighbourhood entry and exit points. Once you enter a signed area, the 30 km/h speed limit applies throughout the local road network until you leave that area. Slower speeds help reduce the risk of serious collisions and make neighbourhood streets safer. Learn more about the change: toronto.ca/LocalSpeed

No one is shocked by this. You only get an appointment like this if you’re a sinister political appointment and willing to trash the British national interest, so what is the point of ‘vetting’ the applicant?

If we “retain our humanity”, as he puts it, we will be erased in our own country. The idea that a rational self-defence of oneself is evidence of our ‘inhumanity’ is disgusting.
This is all true. The speed and scale of the change are seismic and unprecedented. And it is not leading to the multicultural utopia that elitist liberal-progressive voices predicted. On the contrary, it is leading to a nation increasingly divided along ethnic, religious and cultural lines. We have to manage that rupture as best we can - and by always retaining our basic humanity. But pretending it isn’t happening serves no-one.

The police are bullies, political stormtroopers and filth, no. 488/2026.
🚨 A 15-year-old boy was woken by four West Midlands Police officers banging on his door. Fraser, a schoolboy and Reform UK activist, was arrested in front of his neighbours, bundled into a police car and held overnight in a cell. His mugshot and DNA were taken; even his shoes were confiscated. While he was in the cell, officers searched his bedroom at home. His “crime”? Criticising a Conservative councillor for wearing shorts and a T-shirt to a council meeting, then joking on social media that the councillor “was not looking like a rent boy” when he wore a suit. Fraser also posted an altered photograph of the councillor wearing bunny ears. In what self-respecting democracy should a child be arrested for criticising an elected politician? The Free Speech Union is supporting Fraser and has taken on his case. His lawyers received an email from West Midlands Police stating that “it is alleged that your client’s comments could be considered a hate crime offence”. Months later, Fraser is still waiting to learn whether he will be charged. Speaking to the New York Post, FSU Director of Legislative Affairs Sam Armstrong said: “Broadly speaking, several thousand people a year are being arrested for… ‘offensive speech’ in the UK.” Since 2020, the FSU has handled more than 7,000 cases involving people whose free speech has been infringed and who have been punished for exercising it. More than 60,000 people have also been arrested for communications offences in the UK. The First Amendment protects US citizens’ right to free speech. As Sam told the New York Post, it is the “global gold standard”. Read more below 👇
