Without this law, climate protection is unthinkable, our targets unachievable. EU-wide 55% reduction in emissions by 2030 cannot be achieved without "natural sinks", i.e. forests or peatlands.

🇪🇺 What is the state of nature?
In very concrete terms, this is how it currently looks for Europe - 2 facts:
🔻 81% of EU ecosystems are in poor condition
half of global economic power depends on services provided by nature - from pollination by insects to the availability of clean drinking water.
➡️ Our soil is literally dying. Earthworms, fungi, etc. are disappearing due to invasive species or climate crisis. A food crisis
worldwide is basically inevitable should we not change course.
