☢️ Radiation exposure in #ECLS? To be considered to improve survival outcomes, specifically in the young! #ECMO could be associated with substantial radiation exposure, with radiation burden progressively increasing over hospital stay in survivors. Exact long-term risk cannot be predicted, but excessive exposure during relatively short period cannot be discounted. 🫀 💉 Albumin infusion in an in-vivo model of refractory cardiac arrest resuscitated with VA #ECMO: the first 6 hours of refractory cardiogenic shock treated with #ECPR, albumin aimed at normalizing albumin level markedly decreased amount of delivered fluid, but did not impact amount of vasopressor & did not improve microcirculation parameters or lactate clearance.
