Review in The Guardian of @GalorOded's new wonderful and tremendously important book. They write: "Galor builds his case meticulously, always testing his assumptions against the evidence, and without the sense of agenda-pushing that accompanies other boosterish thinkers". ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

#doxing is a despicable form of intimidation, fit for idle, fascist keyboard thugs. It will fail against @nunopgpalma, not one to be cowed into submission

#doxing arrived to Portugal. Someone published personal data online about my friend @nunopgpalma.

Woke up with the sad, sad news that Pedro Lains passed away. Great fun to be around, a motivator with critical spirit, full of youthful energy, a great economic historian, author of many important books. Once told me: 'history is far more profound that economics'. God knows.

Why did European interest rates decrease in the 14th and 15th centuries? Widespread access to landed property coupled with stable coinage! At least, that is what my latest article "Capital in a Frontier Economy: Portugal, 1230-1500" argues.doi.org/10.1017/S02126109190โ€ฆ
