Player coach but the span of control is 1:10. You’re expected to mentor, deliver, and be on-call. Also performative 996.

That's fair but by this very logic you should always take cash instead of equity when given the option to unless that equity amounts to less than 5% of your portfolio or you're in a position to make meaningful decisions to affect that equity. EOD industry dictates the split.

If Binding of Isaac Rebirth is a 10, what would you rate this game?

“Middle class” and “paycheck to paycheck” have become identity claims, totally divorced from reality.
40% of workers earning over $500,000 are leaving paycheck to paycheck, per Goldman Sachs.

Kind of weird how as an industry we’ve just accepted that LinkedIn is level-1 but the same doesn’t apply to MSFT or Amazon where Sr Swe is really Staff.

Are there any iOS or Android engineers with a focus on UI/UX in my network? Someone who deeply cares about craft and has great technical chops to implement in Swift / Jetpack compose. Early career (SWE II) prefered.

This tracks with lived exp. You really have to go management track to keep going outside of AI Labs. There’s like 10:1 managers at the Sr. Director level compared to IC at every company. But tbh I feel like we’re lucky to have an IC track. I am not aware of other industries.

I think the problem is that it won’t fit into your specific tech stack. Or specific use case. The closets thing we have are design systems, or Native UI libraries, or packages but anything custom ends up being extremely difficult to fit into existing stack. Mybe I am missing ur .

Yup, as far as I can tell, they're basically less powerful versions of Claude Code, Codex, Cursor which require less technical knowledge. Have slightly better computer use but fail often enough that I've yet to find a use case for them.

Happily married to one. Not that it matters but Nurses in SF regularly make more than SWEs working at startups.
