One verrrra level most favourite stretch in the movie is when Dileep finally discovers who killed Varman. He’s sent a photo of Jailer on WhatsApp, searches for him & is shocked to realise that it was Muthu, the driver, all along.
When Dileep spots Muthu, he’s innocently wiping the car doors. But the moment Dileep turns away, Tiger Muthuvel Pandian fixes him with a sharp, predatory gaze, sizing him up as his next prey. Thalaivar absolutely kills it with that angry look! 🔥
But what makes this scene even more fascinating is the underlying metaphor. I don’t know if Nelsaa intentionally intended it that way, but MVP’s behaviour is strikingly similar to that of an actual tiger. A tiger conceals itself in plain sight, lies quietly to ambush its prey & innocent aa nadikkum when the prey looks its way. But the moment the prey lets its guard down, the tiger locks in on it, calculating its next move.
Maybe that’s why he’s called ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian, him having the actual predatory instincts of a tiger.
