And you decided to prove your point using videos of Owo chiefs wearing the Benin pangolin attire, brought to Owo from Benin by Oshogboye 😐😑
Owo court system, regalia and social life are all Benin derived..

These are Owo chieves and this is Owo
Bride. Owo have their own culture and they exist independently . Even from our music you will know. Nobody is disputing the fact that Benin shared blood tie with Owo. We did not steal anything from Edo. It is our culture

11th - 15th century Ife terracotta head excavated by Leo Frobenius,c.1910🔻
—— why this is a sloppy attempt to appropriate the Òkùkú headgear–🔺️
Òkùkú in Benin refers to the unison of the hair, with coral beads acting as it primary ornament.
– Both the beads and the hairdo are expected to work hand in hand to create the standard òkùkú, even when there are òkùkú's like òkùkú'èhá that can be made devoid of beads.

🔻
Coral beads was introduced to the Bight of Benin by the Portuguese in the 15th century and Benin created a monopoly around it, only Benin traders could visibly trade this ornaments with hinter yoruba territories > attributing it to owo or ife is invalid, even yoruba lore still ascribe coral beads to Benin Kingdom.
– Owo couldn't get their hands on them before Benin, because Owo had it first contact with the europeans in the 18th century.
🔻
Leo Frobenius excavation of the terracotta in 1910 - the representation of the hair were with "rings" and at the center nails → which based on the timeline introduction of corals, it's impossible for ife to possess coral beads in the 15th century..
→ The elaborate used of coral beads in headgears introduced by the Èdó people "Òkùkú" never added iron rings or nail to the hair frame and no part of the terracotta depicts similar trait with the èdó òkùkú.

You want to claim Òkùkú variant through Owo, that was influenced by Benin..
Are they also aware we can claim gele through Akoko Èdó people who use it as a form of their traditional wear.
Next time an èdó lady wear gele - we ascribe it to Akoko Èdó territory..

Owo; A Frontier Yoruba Kingdom by Oladipo Joseph Olugbadehan
——
Explaining the Benin influence on Owo in terms of court system, regalia (mode of dressing), and the overall social life of Owo, which started in the 16th century.
——
Samuel Akintoye in this work stated the influence started after Benin had "conquered" and made owo one of it vassals in northeastern yoruba territories...
Ask them to post a picture of owo maidens in this particular attire from 1910 to 1950s and see as they quickly go pale...
This level of beadwork is relatively new among the owo's...
Dear YORUBA Women,
This right here is not Benin or Igbo. It is a YORUBA wat of Dressing too and supported with archeological evidence. This is An Ondo state way of dressing....it's part of our culture.

One of the best moment during the Durbar on Saturday was when Òbá Ewuare N’Ogidigan ll, reminded the public the importance of horses in the Benin army.
The Benin horsemen plaques and art were also used as reference point, the Benin Calvary during the Benin imperial era is rarely talked about, but their capability was immense and contributed greatly to expansion of Benin empire.
The Iboyanyan district in Benin were also incharge of horse taming and training in Benin, like their counterpart the Iviekpen and Iwekpen were incharge of leopard hunting and taming.

Before the thievery British guys came, Ọwọ was 100% Benin, having its own Benin leadership, governed through Uselu, while Ondo (Ore Udo - the area of Udo), as Benin territory, was governed through Udo in Benin. Udo oversaw much areas like Oke Ada (Okada in Benin today), Siluko, Ofosu, Ohosu, etc. Uselu held the leaderships of Ọwọ, Ẹdo-Ekiti (Ado-Ekiti today), and Akurẹ areas.
All these people are Benin people, no matter what twists have happened over the last 129 years+.
During my last visit to both Ondo and Ọwọ (being in present Ondo State), I met with a few elders that revealed historical realities far beyond what I had known.
Even though I had shortly lived at Oke Ogun in Ọwọ at a young age, I revisited to learn more than what social media and history books could tell.
Difficult, for the next millennium to come, especially with the level of Ẹdo engagements in recent years, to tear up the Ọwo and Ondo origins, links, and traditional affiliations to Benin.
I strongly suggest that those who would argue my position online to, at least, visit Ọwọ, Akurẹ, Ilajẹ, Ẹdo-Ekiti (Ado Ekiti), and Ondo traditional homes.
So, when you see these people dress like or admire the need to dress like Benin, it’s because they bear the blood rights to look and be Benin. There’s a deeper connection than social media.🦇🦇🦇

These are Owo historians themselves speaking on how Edo influenced them. Influenced their way of life in all spheres and how Oshogboye, an Owo prince who grew up in Benin introduced beaded clothes to Owo palace and their women
