#Shovelomics on our @Root2Res trials is complete ✅ Trials seek to develop cultivars w/ abiotic stress tolerance. Thanks to the hard work from the Johnstown and Oak Park teams. Microbe community composition & functioning, enzyme activity, genomics & harvest analysis next!

Great to see so many out lending a hand — and we even stayed dry.
Now onto the small matter of processing all those samples!!
2025 @Root2Res Faba shovelomics with the @PlantEcoHutton team has kicked off, we'll be taking some #rhizosphere soil and #roots back to our lab @Soilmicrobio for nutrient cycling and microbial community analysis 🫘 🧬 always great to work with this crew.
Our @Root2Res 2025 potato trials are planted bythe @teagasc Potato Breeding Team and ourselves @Soilmicrobio. Huge thanks to all involved for their efforts. Looking forward to phenotyping these 440 genotypes above and below ground 🌿🥔
