I applaud the actions taken today by our Governor and legislative leaders around BGE rate relief. It’s a clear acknowledgement of the burden these high rates are on MD families. However, we need a long-term solution to bring down rate costs. Affordability must be prioritized.
For the life of me, I cannot understand why this man won’t tell the truth. Once in a lifetime COVID Cash that expired in 2024 is not your surplus. You also vetoed “record funding for education” which the legislature restored. Plus Alsobrooks beat you by 12. Sit down #LyingLarry
For eight years, we proved that it’s possible to cut taxes, tolls, and fees by $4.7 billion, provide record funding for education, law enforcement, and transportation, all while turning the largest deficit ever inherited into a record $5.5 billion surplus. We didn’t just restore fiscal responsibility to Annapolis, we left Maryland in the strongest financial position in history.
🚨‼️ Our public schools are under attack! Millions of public #edFunding is at risk! We’ve been sounding the alarm on this. This crisis is real and it only has the potential to grow worse.

Let’s also not forget. With recent SCOTUS rulings emboldening and protecting this reckless federal administration - State government becomes all the more important. A strong state government is the last line of defense.
Recent decisions and votes coming out of DC regarding the so-called #BBB and the decision to withhold billions of dollars for education programs is further proof that the Republican Party doesn’t care about working people nor those attempting to make a better life for themselves
