We've got some half price cracked ice And miles and miles of carpet tiles, TVs, deep freeze and David Bowie LPs, Ball games, gold chains, wozanames, And at a push Trevor Francis track suits from a mush in Shepherds Bush, Bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush
Very interesting - Pat McFadden tells The Telegraph that young NEETs will be given advice on how to set up their own businesses I speak to so many young people who dream of being entrepreneurs but, if you’ve never known a business owner and nobody can advise you, how can you begin? This can lead to young people falling prey to unscrupulous influencers. This has the potential to be a great thing from government.

Good on former Everton, Barca and England hit man Gary Lineker for blocking people who see hospitals being bombed and say ‘The Drs and Nurses have a lot to answer for here’.

All of these countries moving “defensive” forces into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect against Ansarallah air attacks—what happens when Trump-Netanyahu restart their criminal war on Iran. Will they all be at war with Iran too? Is that the unspoken purpose here?

Since September, the Saudi war in Yemen has displaced at least 130,000 people from their homes. A staggering 17 million people face hunger. Britain's support for this catastrophic war - and its complicity in horrendous suffering - must end. Where is the strategy for peace?

The frankly Orwellian modern tendency to announce you are participating in combat missions in a war while simultaneously saying you are staying out of the war.
Andy Burnham’s spokesman says RAF Typhoon jets will intercept Houthi missiles and drones. They won’t launch strikes on Houthis inside Yemen. Says Britain isn’t being drawn into the war and that defending Saudi is in the UK’s economic and security interests

Lots of interesting bits of info in the SAS in Syria story in the Times - e.g. the SAS captured some suspects and took them to Foreign Office "approved" Kuridsh prisons archive.ph/pgrOU @ElwinWay

Mere hours before Labour pledged to defend the far right dictatorship in Saudi Arabia.
The Canary & Stats for Lefties dead🪦. What a great day for the non-dictator loving left!

These people simply cannot win if they want to take it in to the realm of who does and doesn’t support ‘dictators’. Labour’s record of supporting highly repressive, right wing governments is decades long and continuing. Laughable chutzpah.

Andy Burnham going to bat for a far right dictatorship that has inflicted what was the worst humanitarian crisis in the world on Yemen. Nice guy though.

It’s highly unlikely Burnham would be PM if ‘they’ - the security state, the corporate media, the Westminster political class etc - thought he’d act any differently. He’d have got the Corbyn / Polanski treatment.

‘Don’t say this true thing because it’ll give our enemies ammunition’ means never making progress on an issue. You need to name and describe the problem accurately if you want to bring people along with solving it in a just and democratic way.
The best possible “optics” is saying the truth, loudly, and clearly, when everyone around you is lying.

‘We win by not fighting for our politics’ probably isn’t the best plan.

Thread I did on this issue in 2020:

More and more convinced that McDonnell’s supposed strategic brilliance is just short hand for ‘Will capitulate to the right on foreign policy and defence issues and therefore get less flak than Corbyn did’. That’s it. That’s the ‘strategic brilliance’.

The Russian armed forces go from being a bunch of clowns armed with spades (so if we Arm Ukraine they’ll win easily!) or a technologically advanced behemoth that presents a huge threat (that’s why we have to spend more £ on our own armed forces), depending on what’s convenient.

Been doing her homework and has discovered that disabled children often become disabled adults.
She’s obsessed in a particularly cruel minor Dickens character way about all this

Starmer’s levels of duplicity and lying. Burnham, with a straight face, here claims he wants to “push power out of Westminster” while yesterday threatening to throw local government into chaos unless Green coalition partners publicly denounce anti-zionism!
"My message to John is simple, I want to push economic power out into the regions of Scotland, do you?" Andy Burnham challenges Scotland's First Minister John Swinney to "push power" out from Westminster and Holyrood "into the hands of local people" bbc.in/4yl7lNX
