We all know why Dana Bash doesn’t interview grieving Gazan mothers or why the NYT doesn’t issue breaking news alerts when a West Bank olive farmer is lynched: Zionist journalists recognize the unique humanity of every Israeli, but see Palestinians as one wretched warlike mass.

The IDF provided cover, with tear gas and machine guns, while the settlers beat @washingtonpost journalist Heidi Levine nearly to death. Then the IDF shot a Palestinian bystander, and aimed their guns and shoved the paramedics who were trying to treat him. All of this documented.
Earlier today, IDF and Israel Border Police forces were dispatched to an area adjacent to Khirbet Abu Falah, following a report of a violent confrontation. Foreign media personnel were present at the scene and a female journalist was injured during the confrontation. All details of the incident will be examined. Upon arriving to the scene, the forces acted to disperse the confrontation using riot dispersal means. At another location where the confrontation took place, IDF soldiers initially fired warning shots into the air and then fired toward a suspect who ran toward them, carrying a sharp object and posed a threat to them. The confrontation was dispersed. Israeli Police forces and forensic investigators from the Judea and Samaria District will enter the area with IDF security to collect findings and evidence, as well as take testimonies. Violence against innocent civilians is a grave and intolerable phenomenon that requires a coordinated, multi-agency response. The IDF will work together with the relevant authorities to eradicate this phenomenon. The IDF strongly condemns this incident. Attempts to incite friction between populations undermine security in the area.

Jerry Seinfeld is fascinating. His entire act is about Pop Tarts and answering machines but then when you catch him offstage he's like "I don't care if those fuckin kids die!"

Student journalists on campus are braver than the industry they are expected to grow into. They deserve better than what any journalist association has to offer them.

it's okay to have experienced assault that sits in a gray area, not want or seek formal recourse, and still grieve for the terrible ways it hurt you and the culture that allows it to happen so casually and so perpetually btw

Huda is a young Palestinian journalist based in Gaza. She's been a joy to work with at @theintercept and writes for many other outlets despite extraordinary obstacles. Now, she urgently needs to raise the funds she needs to continue her education in the UK.

Our hearts are broken as we learned this morning another taxi driver died alone in his taxi. The brother died on the highway, in his parked car, with an insulin shot in his hand. We are waiting for the family to be notified. Only 53 years young, he was a lease driver with Westway Brokerage who were notified of the death by a tow truck driver. We're thanful Westway immediately sent someone to the home address they had on file and went to the Tanzanian consulate. A worker at the consulate recognized our deceased brother’s photo and identified a relative in the United States. They are now being contacted. The brother had been in and out of the hospital for diabetes. Our brother was a pioneer for his community. There are only 579 New Yorkers born in Tanzania according to the last census. He shouldn’t have died alone and on the road. Our hearts are crushed at the thought of his last breath taken holding his insulin in his hand. The streets are where drivers work. They shouldn't be where they look in desperation to administer their care and without it, take their last breath. We see you, our brother, and will honor you in struggle. May you rest in eternal peace.

Maybe if murdering Brown people had been a disqualifier, we wouldn’t be here to begin with. Another day, another reminder that much of the American left only seems to treat rape and murder as disqualifying when the victims are Americans & not overseas.
