ALT As an organization that supports underrepresented scientists, the Emory SACNAS chapter stands in solidarity with the Black community. We mourn the loss of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Tony McDade, and countless others who have suffered violence at the hands of police officers and white supremacists. We ask that our non-Black members join us in affirming our commitment to supporting our Black peers, friends, and colleagues. We must be willing to listen to and amplify the voices of those most impacted. We as scientists are not immune to bias. Now, more than ever we must reflect on our views and be diligently and actively anti-racist. Consider signing this letter to the Emory administration petitioning for action to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all its students, particularly for those who are marginalized.
