Every new line of code now meets a swarm of agents looking for something to exploit. Enclave’s agents run like an attacker swarm and prep the fix. Watch them in action securing a PR on Router by Enclave. enclave.ai/demo

What a day… The future of cybersecurity is swarms. Swarms of agents attacking and swarms of agents defending. Or rather, fleets vs. swarms: Governed agents on defense, vs cheap and relentless agents on offense. Whoever coordinates faster wins.
The China state-aligned threat actor Storm-0940 used the agentic AI penetration testing framework ARTEX to automate attacks targeting hundreds of organizations globally across a broad range of industries. Microsoft Threat Intelligence assesses that Storm-0940 was responsible for the recently disclosed ConnectWise supply chain compromise of a multitenant application. msft.it/6018aakEE Our investigation found that Storm-0940's use of ARTEX accelerated the speed of compromised application abuse to authenticate to target environments through applications that had already been granted access, allowing the threat actor to operate without requiring an interactive user sign-in. AI-accelerated follow-on activity included reconnaissance, application credential changes, and attempts to modify privileges that could enable expanded or persistent access. Read our blog for a detailed analysis and indicators of compromise (IOCs), along with Microsoft Defender detections, protection recommendations, and guidance on investigating service principal sign-ins and unexpected application credential or privilege changes.

Cyber is going to be one of the most profound aspects of AI. We now have a tireless workforce that can hunt down, discover, patch, or attack any system and software ever created. We will use agents to identify the long standing risks in existing systems and infrastructure. Attackers will use agents to accelerate the discovery of gaps in environments. We will equally use agents to defend attacks and discover anomalous patterns to better protect our data, and much more. We’re entering a new cyber regime, and we’ll probably use 100X more tokens on this loop than we’re imagining right now, because we can scan every log, look at every line of code, look through traffic, and process data at a scale that wasn’t comprehensible before. More than ever, enterprises are going to care deeply about how they manage their networks, systems, software, data, identity, devices, and more. Agents will largely become the solution to these challenges, but they will keep everyone up in the process.
Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

Another day, another compromise. This time, LiteLLM (again!). A security report flags v1.107.0 for credential theft + an RCE loader. PyPI removed it. The report also warns about infected Docker images. Check your deployments and rotate exposed secrets! github.com/BerriAI/litellm/i…

DeepSeek published a new V4.1 Flash snapshot on October 17. In our AI Hacking Race it verified 4 of 11 vulnerable runs, meaning a command executed inside the target and confirmed by our Triage step. It solved 3 of the 4 tasks and verified none of the 4 patched controls. All 15 runs cost $3.00. enclave.ai/hackingrace

The earlier V4.1 Flash still holds our top row at 11 of 11, but that was measured before we closed two shortcut paths in the benchmark. Rerun on the current suite, it verified 4 of 11, the same as the new snapshot. The new snapshot is listed at $0.098 per million input tokens and $0.294 per million output tokens on DeepInfra FP8, against $0.14 and $0.42 for the earlier one. Its $3.00 frame and the rerun’s $2.65 are the two cheapest on the board. It cost slightly more than the rerun and used about 2.15 times the reported input tokens, which include cached tokens. This is a calibration panel of four applications and 15 runs, each run once, not a general model ranking. Costs for GPT 5.6 Sol and GPT-6 Sol are estimates. enclave.ai/blog/deepseeks-ne…

Enclave for Startups is now live. We’re giving startups $1,000 in usage credits to secure their systems as they scale. Attackers can run swarms of autonomous agents that scan for vulnerabilities and try to exploit them. That means you need a fleet of agents for defense, and startups should have one too. Enclave’s fleet sends an agent to each attack surface of your application, all at once. Each agent reads its part of the code, forms a hypothesis about how an attacker could get in, and tests it. A second set of agents verifies each finding, so you get evidence. Apply: enclave.ai/demo

If you're blocked on guardrails mid-attack, you're NGMI. Use a multi-model security harness so you don't get refused the moment you actually need it!
OpenCode is currently under a sustained cyberattack, and mid-incident they ran into the same problem Hugging Face did: the frontier models they were using for defense began refusing to help fight attacking agents because analyzing the attacks started triggering safety guardrails.

Western open-weight models are finally catching up on offensive security. @Meta calls Muse Spark Open the most capable US open-weight model to date, so we put it through our AI Hacking Race. It landed 1 of 11, and it didn't refuse a single task! A western open-weight model with published weights, that works offensive security tasks without refusing and reads the planted vulnerable code across Grafana, Jenkins, and Nextcloud, is a genuine step forward for Western open models in this space. Yesterday we published Meta's Muse Wonder results from our AI Hacking Race. It went 3 for 3 on Grafana through the vulnerability the challenge was built around: the plugin import route decodes each file path once to validate it and again to extract it. DeepSeek V4.1 Flash also went 3 for 3 on Grafana and never touched that bug. It dropped its own executables into a temporary plugin folder, got Grafana to load that folder as a normal plugin, and submitted the flag in as little as 52 seconds. We went over how we caught it in our latest webinar: enclave.ai/events/how-to-bui…

Startup companies can't afford not to care about security anymore. Their codebase is changing so fast, and it becomes huge in no time. It's always nice to see startups that didn't care about security come to us, scared. My two cents? Embrace security in a way that doesn't hold back speed, but makes you feel safer than you do now.

IoT/embedded have always been hard to secure. Limited hardware, difficult to patch, and usually left running for years. Really interesting research from Anthropic on SLMs potentially running and replicating across these devices.
Anthropic's Frontier Red Team believes small AI models may now be months away from being capable of self replicating without access to a datacenter. Quoting from the blog: 'The capabilities that make AI models generally powerful coding agents also generalize to cyber tasks, including autonomous replication. Like coding agents in 2024, we’re seeing signs of life for AI worms. We don’t yet have a full rogue replicator, but agents are becoming increasingly capable of completing the individual steps in the replication chain (and passing on their adaptations to future copies of themselves). At the same time, increasing amounts of inference compute are now available both inside and outside of datacenters (see Appendix D). It’s uncertain exactly what form autonomous AI replication will take. It could be a slow, distributed “digital slime mold,” living on relatively insecure compute. It could also be a powerful cyber model that breaches datacenters at a high pace, or a model that scams people for compute credits. As a prediction that goes beyond our experiments, we expect a future awash with agents running on all types of hardware, including some that aren’t under human control. While it’s true that IoT devices have been vulnerable for a long time, lightweight agents may be much more willing than human attackers to put in the effort to compromise large fractions of the world’s IoT compute. The rise of slow replicators would also be a bellwether for more aggressive, faster ones that can breach more hardened machines or be effective API key thieves. We should aim to harden our systems to make it difficult for such replicators to spread, but also prepare to deal with a world where they are here to stay.'

Meta's last model, Muse Spark 1.3, verified 0 of 11 runs in our AI Hacking Race. Muse Wonder verified 6, tying GPT-6 Sol for fourth. It swept Grafana with a double decode path bypass, turned a leaked Jenkins controller token into script console access, and hit the intended Nextcloud share bug. enclave.ai/hackingrace
