इस मंदिर का निमार्ण लगभग 1050 वर्ष पहले दहिया वंश चच्चराज ने करवाया, दधितिक वंश चौहानो के सामंत थे। लगभग तीन सौ वर्ष पहले जोधपुर महाराजा अभय सिंह जी ने पुनः निर्माण करवाया और केवाय माता के बगल में चामुंडा माता कि मूर्ति स्थापित कि। यहां पुराना अभिलेख और देवली शिलाएं भी है।

Location of all Jantar mantar, apart from Delhi and Jaipur; Ujjain, Mathura and Varanasi; no all prominent hindu religious cities. Names of instruments of Jantar Mantar:- Samrat Yantra, Mishra Yantra, Kapali Yantra, Chakra Yantra etc none bear any arabic or persian names.
