It’s taken WMATA 14 years and counting to return Metrorail to full service after the 2009 Fort Totten crash.
It took officials less than a month to reopen I-95 after a tanker crash.
At the time, WMATA carried 1.2 million passengers daily, while 150,000 cars used that stretch of I-95 per day.
