Of course assets generated by AI-written code are considered AI-generated assets, that’s such a ridiculous workaround and is not disagreeing with Steam. Yes, a game doing that should obviously be disclosing it- both games should disclose AI as that follows the rules of the store
It’s no different to the “walled garden” of Steam’s 30% revenue split. You’re more than welcome to use a different storefront or create your own if you’re unhappy about needing to disclose that you’re using slop in your games
Political?! If AI bros actually believed AI was good they'd be writing like this 😭 Tim has asked for more developers using AI to speak up, and is now saying that Steam is wrong for asking for disclosure and wants to hide it?
Replying to @mattworkman
Forcing developers to write a political statement to be used against them by the hate mob they’re helping organize is abhorrent.
Me when I trip and "mistakenly" write a rule explicitly requiring developers to use slop in their games, whoopsie! 🤭
Our FAQ originally said you had to use AI for the MegaJam. That’s our mistake.
You can use as little or as much AI as you want. We’re updating the FAQ and rules to make that clear.

This is legitimately embarrassing at this point, the hand in the image has 6 fingers?
If a tool is so good, why is it not just encouraged, but forced? Wouldn’t developers want to use it anyway lest they get “left behind”? How is it even meant to be proven that developers are actually using AI here?
Imagine a film festival REQUIRING that the films submitted have been edited using Adobe Premiere Pro. It’s genuinely nonsense unless you’re trying to force it into every facet of someone’s livelihood? The whole thing (including the image) feels like it’s just engagement bait, in which case… congrats?
I’m scared for the future of UEFN at this point. Saying “programming is hard” feels so disrespectful to the people who have spent the past 3 years learning Verse, invested in this platform. Do Epic actually intend to continue updating the language now that they’ve pivoted to Claude running everything, or will we just continue to see everything on the roadmap being pushed further and further away every quarter?
We got Verse running GTA before GTA VI 😭

A highly accurate Game Boy emulator written in UE6's future programming language, Verse. It runs both standalone (using Python as the display) and right inside Fortnite using #UEFN! 🧵
This is a project I've been really passionate about for a long time! In fact, I made the project for it 3 and a half years ago before realising that I didn't really have the skills for it, nor did UEFN have the capabilities yet...
