Congratulations to Mark Carney on record-breaking growth in action verbs. While Canadians struggle with rising costs, his government is busy trying to “deepen,” “strengthen,” “enhance,” “advance,” “foster,” “facilitate,” “encourage,” “explore” and “support” future cooperation. Canadians have seen the speeches, summits and verbs. We need action and results, not verbs, nouns or adjectives.

Another PM trip, another non-binding, aspirational ‘MOU’. It won’t lower a single tariff, feed a single hungry family, lower gas prices, or get a house for a single young couple.

This Liberal Minister has spent the last decade acting against Canadian energy, things that would emit less pollution, secure the world from Beijing, and ensure Canadian prosperity. Now she’s in Beijing, rewarding the biggest coal polluter, continuing the long march of the Net Zero lie? I recommend this essay, “China’s Net Zero Advantage,” by @Doranimated and @ProfBShaffer. Excerpts: “Over the past two decades, therefore, an alliance in all but name has taken shape. On one side stands the Chinese party-state. On the other stands a Western climate community much broader than its activist core: environmental organizations and the philanthropies that finance them, research institutes and international agencies, journalists who cover the transition to renewable energy, officials drawn from the movement’s own ranks, and the investors, asset managers, and financial institutions whose returns depend on the policies the movement secures
 “
On the surface, it looks like a relationship of strange bedfellows. China is the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases and the largest producer and consumer of coal. Its power system still runs mainly on coal, and it burns more coal than the rest of the world combined. By the climate movement’s own stated goal, the reduction of emissions, China should be its principal target. It is not. The organizations working to avert climate change aim their strongest instruments—divestment, litigation, regulatory pressure, public shaming—at Western energy and industry, and at the governments that decline to restrict them.” Full must read essay: tabletmag.com/sections/news/

For more than 30 years, Canada and China have worked together on the environment. 🇹🇩🇹🇳 In Beijing this week, we’re deepening that cooperation to lower global emissions, protect nature, and open new opportunities for Canadian clean tech.

I’m sure I remember several commentators dismissing this past weekend’s WSJ report as inaccurate, then proceeded to scold anyone for reacting to it. Given the denials issued by the PMO clean-up crew and PM Carney himself, Ms. von der Leyen surely intended to describe a "unique alliance" with Canada and not suggest “associate membership” in the EU. Question from Canadians who didn’t get the story from their own media in the first place: Why the outright lie by the Prime Minister?

The Prime Minister can’t seem to get his story straight about the “associate membership,” “unique alliance,” or whatever else he is negotiating with the EU. Conservatives are clear: we support the decades-old free trade & NATO defence alliance with Europe. But no EU taxes, no EU laws, and no EU open-border immigration policies should be imposed on Canadians. Canada must be independent and sovereign. Period.

Mark Carney could not be more out of touch. With Canadians missing meals and mortgage payments, and days before he addresses the European Parliament (instead of the Canadian Parliament) we learn in a foreign newspaper of secret talks to make Canada an "Associate Member" of the European Union. This is not about diversifying trade: we have had tariff-free trade with Europe for over a decade. They would buy more of our goods today if the Liberal government would get out of the way and permit mines, pipelines, LNG plants to produce and ship them. Canadians deserve answers: Is the WSJ report true about associate membership in the EU? If so, will European border policies apply in Canada, further overwhelming our immigration system while our youth can’t find homes? Will Canadian waitresses struggling with rent have to pay tax dollars to the bloated EU bureaucracy? Will Canadian small businesses be buried under the red tape of Eurocrats that have never met a Canadian entrepreneur? All questions I’d ask in Parliament, but it is shuttered. And one more: who decides for Canada? The Welland welder did not elect a Eurocrat to regulate our steel. The Saskatchewan farmer and the Atlantic fisherman did not choose a Brussels agrifood regulator that has never even seen our prairies or coasts. We will NEVER be the 51st U.S. state. And we will NEVER be the 28th EU state. We are Canadians. This is our home, our freedom, our sovereignty, our people. Now and forever.

The communist regime in Beijing and their military cannot be trusted. They are not our allies; they are not our friends; they do not share our values. The Liberals are either naïve or wilfully turning a blind eye to China’s foreign interference in Canada, their gross human rights violations in China and their destabilizing efforts in the Indo-Pacific. China must not become Canada's strategic partner. See the letter from Conservative Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs @EricDuncanSDG and myself to Prime Minister Carney.

There was a real choice: build foreign policy around what actually serves Canada, or cave again to the loudest, most fringe voices. This government chose the latter and Canadians are the ones left holding the bag. Synagogues, Jewish schools, and Jewish-owned businesses are already under threat, with security heightened nationwide as the holiest days of the year approach. Yet this is the moment the government chose to double down on a double standard, one that has emboldened three years of violence on our own streets. Nowhere in these one-sided declarations is there any demand that the Palestinian Authority deliver on what it promised Prime Minister Carney. The pressure simply evaporates, and it's the Palestinian people, their economy, and Canadian workers who will pay the price. A stronger economy, eradicating hatred in our own neighborhoods, and real progress toward peace is the leadership Canada should offer, not the careless, one-sided moves that set back all three at once. Canada will one day again chart its own course: restoring a bilateral relationship with Israel built on mutual respect and mutual benefit, the kind that once made Canada a trusted and credible voice in the region. Today, we’re very far from that. Cc: @AHousefather @vgasparro @lesliechurch @AnitaAnandMP

Before the election, the Prime Minister said that China was the biggest threat to Canada in the world. After the election, he said he wants a partnership for a “New World Order” with the dictatorship there. Now he is holding defence coordination talks with Beijing, which Canadians had to learn about from Chinese media. No “new world order”. No military cooperation with a regime that kidnapped our people, interfered in our elections, and set up police stations on our soil. Put Canada First.

These talks are NOT in the best interests of Canadians. What absolutely poor judgement by the Liberals to engage like this with the communist dictatorship in Beijing when they are openly running illegal police stations and interfering in our elections.
SHOCKING 🚹 Carney SECRETLY started military talks with the BEIJING DICTATORSHIP. A SECRET police deal & now THIS. Colluding with a GENOCIDAL regime that runs illegal police stations in Canada & interferes in our elections is Carney’s idea of a “New World Order.”

The head of Mark Carney’s Investment Agency suddenly resigns days before hosting a supposedly massive Investment Summit. Carney installs the very powerbroker whose company broke rules to take $200 million in taxpayers money and “supercharged” the opioid crisis that killed 50,000 Canadians. The guy was the architect of the Century Initiative, which pushed for mass immigration that drove wages down, rent up, and corporate profits through the roof. When will the media ask some serious questions about what the hell is going on here?

Is this for real? The Prime Minister of Canada says this country is “at war,” then plans to fly to Strasbourg to address EU Parliamentarians while refusing to recall the Parliament of the country he claims is under attack where he represents the people who elected him.

Just finished a call with the Prime Minister to discuss the tariff escalation. My message: release the text of the rejected agreement, recall Parliament, and adopt an emergency Economic Action Plan to save jobs and lower costs for our people. The plan should scrap gas taxes until Canada Day, have zero capital gains tax on reinvesting in Canada, end the industrial carbon tax, green -light the 500 projects waiting for federal permits, and have ZERO sales tax on Canadian-made cars. As the U.S. hikes tariffs, we must lower taxes for Canadians. Let’s all fight for our workers, our businesses, and our country.

Conservatives are disappointed that the United States has chosen to impose further unjustified tariffs on Canada. They threaten the jobs and livelihoods of families right across our country. Canadians must stand united to defend our country against these unfair attacks on our jobs and businesses. Canada cannot accept one-sided tariffs that will deindustrialize our country. Nor can we accept a bad deal. Instead, we must continue the fight for tariff-free trade. Later today, I will seek a call with the Prime Minister to discuss what we can do to fight for our workers, businesses, and economy. Conservatives will always put our country first. Conservatives support action to protect Canadians and our industries targeted by these unfair U.S. tariffs. We also need urgent economic reforms to restore growth, protect jobs and save our industry. That must include ending the industrial carbon tax, repealing anti-development laws, green lighting the 500 economic projects awaiting federal approval and major tax reforms to return investment to our country, reward work, and recharge our economy. All Canadians must stand united for our workers, our businesses and our country.
