Its members targeted Black Republican voters *and* Republican officeholders while resisting efforts to establish equal citizenship. That’s documented American history, not Republican propaganda. And here’s another inconvenient fact: At the 1924 Democratic National Convention, opposition to an explicit anti-Klan resolution helped prevent its adoption. Now, historical accuracy also requires acknowledging that the Klan of the 1920s had supporters in both political parties, depending on the state. But posting a century-old photograph and declaring it a MAGA rally doesn’t establish the political affiliation of anyone pictured. History deserves more than partisan obfuscation.
