I swear this is just evil. This woman lost custody of her daughter when she was 12 because she wouldn’t divorce the man who was sexually abusing her daughter. None of her children have spoken to her in decades. Disgusting.
BOMBSHELL:
Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton’s own mother urges voters not to vote for her daughter.
“My name is Donna Arthur and I’m Amy Acton’s mother. I worked at Children and Family Service Association, building one of the first two sexual abuse programs in America.
I love my daughter, but when I saw her lying about her opponent—and it’s not easy for a mother to say this—but Amy has a serious problem.
She is a liar. She lies about her past. She says she grew up living in a tent. None of that is true. She’s lied her entire life.
My daughter needs help, and she can’t help you if she needs help herself. People can change, but first they have to tell the truth, and my daughter still isn’t doing that.
Don’t vote for people who lie. Don’t let her become your governor. If you think she’ll make your life better, you’re fooling yourself. It will only get worse.”
That’s one hell of an October surprise.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
National Review has identified court documentation showing that Cledith Arthur, Donna Arthur's husband, was indicted by a grand jury in 1978 for sexual contact with Acton.
NR also found that Donna Arthur pled guilty to theft in 1996 and was accused of animal abuse in 2021.

"There’s not a world in which I can vote for a Ken Paxton," says Dade Phelan. "Knowing who he is and knowing his integrity, no. I just can’t do it. No whatsoever." texasmonthly.com/news-politi…

James Talarico's closing statement:
You may have noticed that I haven't talked about my opponent at all tonight, because I don't want people to vote just against Ken Paxton. I want them to vote for me. I want them to know my values and my vision.
But we are running against the most corrupt politician in Texas. Since taking office, Paxton has increased his net worth by $27 million. He now owns 15 homes. We have an opportunity to defeat him and this entire corrupt system.

The job of a senator is literally to debate. It's the purpose of the senate. Unlimited debate. Debate in opposition of legislation passed by the House, debate in support of legislation passed by the House. If a candidate for senate won't debate his opponent, he's refusing to audition for the job.
There is no point where you can disprove the conspiracy. The hospital has never heard of him. Doesn’t matter. There are time stamped videos showing he was at home. Not enough. Now we need the actual flu test, not that you would believe that either. It’s all a shell game of lies.
Replying to @jessesingal
So? That's all true. What is your point? I don't know where he was, but the whole world knows it wasn't the flu. Where is the flu test?
Your wife's body does not belong to you. It's hers to share with you not yours to take when you feel like it.

This comedy special is genuinely hilarious but the last 10 minutes are really important. Most men are good people but they have to actually care what happens to us.

The Arcane Texas Fact of the Day: Texas Tech University is 101 years old today, on account of it was Sept. 30, 1925 that Texas Technological College opened in Lubbock, with 914 students in four schools: Agriculture, Engineering, Home Economics, and Liberal Arts. Naturally, this being Texas and all, a bit of chicanery was involved.
The push to establish a college in West Texas began before 1900, almost as soon as settlers began putting down roots on the plains. Their efforts appeared to pay off in 1917, when the Texas Legislature approved the creation of West Texas A&M College as a branch of Texas A&M. But the victory was short-lived. The law was repealed at the next legislative session after it was discovered that Governor James E. Ferguson had falsely reported Abilene as the choice of the committee charged with selecting the college site.
Naturally, Ferguson's deception got everybody's dander up and stiffened the resolve of West Texans. With the West Texas Chamber of Commerce helping lead the campaign, supporters continued pressing Austin for a college of their own. Their persistence finally paid off in 1923, when the Legislature approved a compromise bill written by State Senator William H. Bledsoe of Lubbock and State Representative Lewis Carpenter of Dallas.
Competition for the new school was fierce. Thirty-seven West Texas towns submitted proposals, and the locating board visited every one of them before choosing Lubbock. A local steering committee purchased 2,008 acres just west of town and sold the land to the state for the new campus.
So ....Guns up, Red Raiders!
