I’m glad to see Singaporeans’ outpouring support for the 6 year old orphan that lost his parents in such a tragic incident
But I think that there was a precedent of a similar case where the relative of another orphan ended up siphoning all the funds raised for their own use, instead of putting it into a trust for the child
Not to say that this will result in the same thing happening but you can’t fault Singaporeans for raising questions in this case
There’s also netizens saying that the organiser of the fund raising isn’t even the family lmao
Time will tell
For me, the worst of it all is that the couple that died had a 6 year old son
Like, how do you even deal with that? How do you even rationalise what just happened?
What’s going to happen to the kid? (news said that father’s sister will take care of him)
Is the driver’s family going to be responsible for the kid’s finances until he turns 21?
I really hope that the court, beyond giving the mfer a life sentence, is held financially responsible for everything that the kid needs
Even if it means bankrupting him
