Whew. It's so exciting to see this initiative shared with the world. Aniyia has a pretty incredible vision. And she has been working tirelessly to see it realized.
OK, y'all. It’s time for the stuff I’ve been doing at @omidyarnetwork to get a bit more air. Today we’re sharing what I’ve been working on in partnership with a group of incredible leaders and movement builders, an initiative called “The Tech We Want.”

I expand more on “The Tech We Want” in this post, but here’s the takeaway:
We’re going on an epic ride. The ultimate goal is to give life to a tech ecosystem that innovates responsibly, in ways that center collective well-being and shared prosperity. medium.com/@operaqueenie/bui…

💯 "The tech we want serves ALL of us. Otherwise, what's the point? None of us want to live in a damn screen."

“The Tech We Want” is not THE answer, but hopes to be *one* path forward, grounded in an unapologetic love for people. medium.com/@operaqueenie/bui…

I’ve been with this group for months, and let me tell you—THIS IS HARD. It’s a lot of listening, mirroring, confirming, adjusting. We are making sense of the connections between people's interests, looking for areas where they overlap, where they diverge.

In my writing I’ve been unspooling this idea of an inclusion paradox. That you can have inclusion and anxiety or exclusion and certainty but you can’t have certainty and inclusion. You just can’t. And we need to make decisions about what amount of load we can carry.

I’m so grateful to have been able to conceive this effort in partnership with @sarahdrinkwater, and have an incredible team supporting me on this effort, as well. ❤️

I also have to give a special nod to @karlitaliliana and @jocelynmacdoug, our amazing, wise, thoughtful facilitators holding space for this group.

We will build this as publicly as we can, and I will be asking for YOUR help soon. There are so many more people that hope will join us once we have the container for folks to come into. Watch this space.
And remember: we win together, or not at all.

Thread from one of the smartest minds on the planet. When Aniyia started at Omidyar we met and she said "I'm working on something." Months go by and she says "I'll be calling you soon about something" and then she sent an invite to be among my absolute heroes.

Today @operaqueenie, together with a dazzling group luminaries & the visionary team from @OmidyarNetwork made a shared dream real. Years in the making. It's the honor of a lifetime to be a co-dreamer. Community, care, collective power: this is the tech, the world we want.
