Scary times, man.
A man in his 30s with kids reached out to me. He's educated, yet he earns β¦80k-β¦90k a month.
How is he supposed to feed his family?
You tell people to get educated, they do. You tell them to learn a skill, they do. But what happens when everyone has a skill and nobody is hiring?
At what point does the struggle end?
We need to fix this country. People are tired.

Best way to test your product?
Give it to non-technical people. A random user who knows absolutely nothing about tech.
Then youβll be humbled.
Iβve been doing some internal testing on something I plan to launch soon, and these guys have already pointed out things I probably wouldnβt have thought of in a lifetime.
What makes perfect sense to you as the builder might be completely confusing to the person using it.
Non technical users will ever be your best QA team!

Tech bros, what is your typical daily routine look like?
Mine currently:
β’ 3 AM β 8 AM: Sleep
β’ 8 β 9 AM: Hygiene, post, emails + a little social media brain rot
β’ 9 AM β 3 PM: Work
β’ 3 β 4:30 PM: Breakfast/lunch + post + doomscroll a little π
β’ 4:30 β 7 PM: Quick shower + gym
β’ 7 β 9 PM: Work again
β’ 9 β 10 PM: Cook, eat + more doomscrolling
β’ 10 PM β 12 AM: Read
β’ 12 β 3 AM: Work on my PC while binge-watching some family series on the other screen
Then sleep and somehow do it all over again π
It changes from time to time, but this is pretty much my life right now.
And yes, I eat only twice a day π
Whatβs yours like?

Every developer reaches a point where the portfolio needs a complete rebuild.
My portfolio before and after

There are already platforms like Jumia, Konga, and several other e-commerce platforms.
If youβre building an e-commerce platform today, the first question you should be asking yourself is:
What does my platform offer that they donβt?
The second question is even more important:
How do I convince customers to trust my growing platform over an already established platform that has earned the trust of millions of users?
So that being said what will you tell potential customers ? Iβll like to hear.

If you're from a poor background, I don't know how to explain, but when you land your first international remote job. Don't tell anyone in your family. Even mum & Dad.
Just act like you earn 50k. You're not ready for family responsibilities. I repeat you're not ready for it.

I pity some of you.
People are mocking someone for charging 125k for a website, and you're joining them.
Put sentiments aside. Not everyone is charging millions. Social media is full of lies. Don't let what you see online deceive you.
That lady charging 125k sees it as her current worth, and there's nothing wrong with that. She could close 4 projects in a month and make 500k, while someone expecting 500k for one website might spend months looking for a client and still not land a gig. 500k that 80% of Nigerians arenβt earning.
Don't let social media pressure you into skipping the process.
I'll always preach growth.
This time last year, I was charging 180kβ250k for websites. This year, I've closed several projects worth over 500k and even deals worth millions.
Growth is a journey.
Charging 125k today doesn't mean you can't charge 10 million tomorrow. Keep improving your skills, build your portfolio, earn trust, and increase your prices as your value grows.
Run your own race. Don't let social media noise make you look down on honest progress.

Vibe coding is fine for prototypes The problem is whne people think thats all engineering is The real work starts when you have to maintain it

If youβre vibe coding an app and everything is working and youβre excited.
I just want to tell you that you are building a disaster waiting to happen in the future.
Itβs like a novice whoβs not a building architect or building engineer building a home by prompting a robot.
The house will crumble sooner or later.
You should be able to answer the questions of underlying systems powering the application you are building.
