7️⃣ Get involved!
We are incredibly excited about the impact that MyST and Jupyter Book have had, & equally excited about the new things we’ll enable with MyST’s new foray into JavaScript.

6️⃣ Formalizing organizational structure for the Executable Books project
We are building clear pathways for participation and leadership in Executable Books and @myst_tools -- come join our efforts to improve science & technical communication.

5️⃣ MyST-JS will complement Jupyter Book and focus on articles
The same notebooks and markdown files you already use in JupyterBook can now also be used to create scientific articles in LaTeX, Word, or PDF.
4️⃣ MyST will have an implementation-agnostic specification
We are creating a formal definition for MyST at spec.myst.tools allowing us to extend MyST’s syntax through a community-driven enhancement proposals.
3️⃣ MyST will have a JupyterLab extension
We have been working hard on a native MyST experience for JupyterLab. Admonitions, tabs, grids, hover references, and beautiful frontmatter!
Install it today:

MyST-JS already has templates for many scientific journals with LaTeX and Word support!

We have partnered with @curvenote to upstream their open-source docs engine into the @ExecutableBooks community
Parts of the @curvenote CLI for building technical docs & computational narratives is now the backbone of MyST-JS.
See the discussion:
github.com/executablebooks/m…
2️⃣ MyST will have first-class support in JavaScript
This allows reuse across more applications and interfaces, like VSCode and JupyterLab.
