Really excited to be presenting my work as part of the fab looking "Celebrating accademic and early career research" panel as part of #CIfA2021 online next week Thursday 22nd April!
I'm very sad to learn today of the death of Robert Brill. His research lies at the foundation of all chemical analysis of ancient glass, which has taught us not only about the fascination of glassmaking, but about ancient and historical trade, knowledge, & communication.

Another #BSW21 story for #FindsFriday. This window discovered beneath lath and plaster walling during conservation work at a 17th century cottage in Esher, Surrey, really was quite a find!. Samples of the glass were analysed by micro X-ray Fluorescence to help with dating.
