I’ve done a decent amount of non-technical work in InfoSec/Cyber and know a lot of smart people in the sector. I’ve never sensed such a level of concern as I’ve heard over the past 24 hours. It is a dangerous moment.
Media is quiet on this. So here is my semi-informed take:
PHP is a scripting language favored by developers for three decades. It is known to have a major security flaw that allows outsiders to take over a website/system. Previously deemed too difficult to exploit to worry about, Attacking AI agents have changed that.
For 24 hours the InfoSec pros I know have been in a frenzied race to patch the flaw before the hackers get in.
Nothing on Washington Post, CNN, etc. The 44th story down the page on NYTimes. Plenty on Senate polls and other political BS.
Is the media this clueless or are they keeping it quiet for national security reasons? Both are possible.

Great coach, this framing misses the point. If you have a model and process that tells the coach to go for this 51% of the time that is nonsense. Not blaming Kyle here because if that’s how it is being presented that is off.
It really is as simple as having a win probability threshold and when the margin is large enough you should go for it essentially every time. When the margin is closer there is more room for factoring in subjective feel.
They went for a 4th and 3 in the first quarter that was a small win at best (ESPN had it as a 0.6% win). The best in game communication would convey 4th and 1-2 differently than 4th and 3 in that situation.
Simply saying 4th and 3 or less is a go on the headset there is a bad process, because 4th and 1 may be a big win while 4th and 3 is marginal at best.

Unsurprising. I’ve always been puzzled by Aikman’s #1 role while Ryan seems on top of things every time I hear him call a game.
The Steelers should have called timeout at ~35 seconds on the game clock prior to the Bucs 4th down field goal attempt. They ultimately waited until 13 seconds were left which does not make too much sense.
If they called timeout at 35 seconds, Aaron Rodgers would have got the ball back with 30 seconds and a timeout with a good chance to win the game in regulation.

I am SHOCKED that this tweet got such modest traction. I had every expectation that a statistical comparison of ‘25 UMass and ‘26 Sacramento State and their MAC-only stats would be algorithmic candy, of searing interest to a broad swath of social media users.

Jalen Hurts was diagnosed with a blood clot the day after a trans-Atlantic flight, played a football game, then took another flight home.
Given that long flights can cause blood clots I’m surprised there has been so little examination of that, especially the quick trip home.
