🥊I went to the advance screening of 'I Play Rocky' with Deb Levine and absolutely loved it. ❤️Such a nostalgic ride, an inspiring story, and incredibly well acted. If you’re a Rocky fan (or just love a good underdog story), this one’s a must-see. Be sure to stay for the after-credits scene. @iplayrockymovie gets an enthusiastic two fists up from Deb & I! ✊✊ It makes me want to run up the steps Philadelphia Museum of Art again! Loved it!! #IPlayRocky 🥊#rocky #iplayrockymovie

Honoring Johnny Wactor today and every day. Years ago, I had the privilege of interviewing him and we chatted for hours and he was just incredibly warm, genuine, supportive, and full of kindness. His senseless murder still breaks my heart, but his light continues through the way he lived. As @JohnnyWactorworld beautifully put it: the best way to remember him is by keeping his kindness alive. Every Wednesday is Wactor Wednesday/Acts of Wactor Day. I’m joining in and I hope you will too. Do one intentional act of kindness today, big or small. Then share it if you’d like to help the chain grow.

I’m so grateful to have had Gilad in my life, not just as a fitness mentor whose wisdom completely transformed my own weight loss journey, but as a friend. Over the years I was lucky enough to collaborate with him, featuring so much of his sage, no-nonsense advice in articles for Women Fitness Magazine and on my fbjfit . com blog. Today I wanted to share some of his pearls of wisdom from a feature I wrote about setting and achieving fitness goals. His words still motivate me every single day, and I hope they inspire you to keep your body in motion.
1. Change how you look at your health and what you think of in terms of fitness. With all the challenges and uncertainties that seem to face humanity these days, it is more important than ever for us to take good care of our most important and precious possession: our body, our vehicle in this life and our temple where our mind, spirit and soul reside. For this year, I’m renewing my commitment to this precious birthright gift, and I hope you will too!
2. As I approach the new year, my 70th birthday and my 40th year of hosting my Bodies in Motion fitness show, I remind myself of some of the guiding principles that I have shared with my viewers: for safe long-term results, choose consistency over intensity, always walk away from your workout with energy to spare and the more muscles you have relative to fat, the more energy you can produce.
3. When looking to make fitness resolutions for the upcoming year, remember that ‘Magical results’ consists of four elements: discipline, motivation, work and patience! Fitness is a journey, not a destination! 💪🏽

Still processing this loss…Gilad came into my life and left an unforgettable mark. A huge part of my 100 lb. weight loss. My high school yearbook quote was, “One lives in the hope of becoming a memory.” He lived such a remarkable life and touched so many. I’ll keep my body in motion and carry his inspiration with me always. I wrote a blog how I first met "the other man in my life." fbjfit.com/2017/03/this-is-w…

There aren’t the right words to say what Gilad meant to me and how big of a part he played in my weight loss and fitness story. Getting to meet and become friends with Gilad was a gift in my life. I was absolutely heartbroken to hear the news of his sudden passing. The world lost a force of nature and truly one of the best people. What an amazing legacy he leaves behind. Keep your Bodies In Motion. I will miss you forever my friend. 💔😢

I have a philosophy I call my “Drawer a Day Program.” Whether it’s cleaning, organizing, work, or losing weight, I try not to get completely overwhelmed by looking at the giant task ahead of me. So, I break it down into tiny bites. When I had 100 pounds to lose, I just focused on 5-pound mini goals so I wouldn’t get discouraged and quit. Right now, going through my mom’s things, I can only do a little at a time. Amidst the tears that don’t seem to want to stop, there’s always something that makes me laugh out loud: the Foxmoor and Deb Shop clothes with the tags still on, squirreled away in a drawer, the note she saved from 7th-grade me desperately begging to go to a school dance, and most recently, this gem. This was on picture day, by the way. Can you even imagine what it looked like on a regular day?! That photo is exactly why I have such serious haircut PTSD. It’s Monday, the first of a brand-new month, so put on the big smile of 6-year-old me and let’s crush some goals one small step at a time.
P.S. To all my hairdressers over the years… hopefully this finally gives you some clarity.
