Former Yankee Anthony Rizzo ripped apart the Yankees organization on his @RossAndRizzo podcast. “…It’s the same thing every single year. If you talk to people there, they almost think it’s insanity. That’s the definition of insanity, if you think it’s going to change.” “They don’t win. They can’t beat the good teams. That’s how it’s been year after year. We got to the World Series in 2024 and stabbed ourselves in the gut multiple times.” He also said the Yankees should acquire a contact-oriented bat, said that Jazz Chisholm Jr’s postgame comments make him look lost as a player, that the Yankees don’t earn the right to say World Series or bust, and agreed with David Ross that, “change can be a good thing.”

A few things on Anthony Volpe: 1) He handled a setback the best way possible--took it like a man, put his head down and worked, did not complain or act entitled and came back a better version of what he was prior. Respect. 2) He's one of the few players who truly seems to love being a New York Yankee. Not the perks of being a Yankee, but actually BEING a Yankee. Also understands the pain and frustration and expectations of fans. Respect. 3) Always plays with grit and passion. Respect. That's a young man I'm willing to ride with as my starting 2B in 2027.

Might have to consider being a Rockies fan next year. Think about it: -Play at “Coors” field -They wear pinstripes -No playoff heartbreaks or WS expectations -Cool pine trees in CF -Fly balls go far which is fun -Todd Helton was legit -Nobody trolls you because it’s mean

I feel bad for the younger generation of Yankees fans, because at least I grew up with the 90s dynasty

17 years without a ring. George Steinbrenner would have fired the manager, the GM, the strength coach, and the guy who operates the stadium elevator by now

The Yankees were eliminated tonight and have still not won a World Series since 2009. Here is the full discussion between Yankees Legends @AROD and @DerekJeter on what’s next for the franchise. @KevinBurkhardt | @DavidOrtiz | @MLBONFOX

The 90s-early 2000s period will go down as the most visually anthropologically interesting in human history. The first period during which both photography and video recording were available on a large enough scale to capture every aspect of everyday life while being considered normal enough to be a non-event, and the last before people became aware that all sorts of friends and strangers would be able to see them thus causing them to stop acting naturally and start projecting an idealized version at every opportunity.
