macOS 27 is out and Pelmet passed 500+ ⭐ on GitHub & 5,000+ downloads this week. That's more than four times last week's numbers, and I hadn't posted anything 😅 Thank you all so much 🙏 and keep spreading the word pelmet.fif7y.com github.com/fif7y/pelmet

100+ ⭐️ on GitHub & 750+ downloads, one week in. For an app only people on macOS 27 beta can run atm. This is amazing and somewhat unexpected 😅 Thank you all so much, looking forward to the official macOS 27 release on the 14th! github.com/fif7y/pelmet pelmet.fif7y.com

Pelmet is my first personal app in over a decade, the years between went into leading design teams for world-class product companies. Four days in, 30+ stars and ~200 downloads. Quite happy, it felt good to be building again. More coming under fif7y 😅 pelmet.fif7y.com

Pelmet has no account, no analytics, no server. The only connection it makes is checking for its own updates. Free. GPLv3. Homebrew tap or DMG. brew install fif7y/tap/pelmet github.com/fif7y/pelmet

Three sections in Pelmet: Visible, Hidden, Always Hidden. Reorder them in the layout editor, or hold ⌘ and drag icons across the chevron right in the bar. Either way it just adopts the move. pelmet.fif7y.com

Apple rebuilt the menu bar from the ground up in macOS 27. The managers we all relied on (Bartender, Ice) were built for the old one. Pelmet drives the new native hiding mechanism directly, so nothing overlays, nothing fakes, no jumps when the bar reflows. pelmet.fif7y.com

Hey peeps 👋 It's been a while and I'm happy to share that I'm back at it! Pelmet is out. A free, open source menu bar manager built for macOS 27. If you're on the macOS 27 beta, give it a try and tell me what you think, I'm all ears. pelmet.fif7y.com

Steve showed us that the future isn’t something you wait for—it’s something you build. His memory lives on in the hearts of innovators and dreamers everywhere—at Apple and beyond.

Thinking of my friend Steve on his birthday — the lives he touched, the vision he shared, and the profound impact he had on our world. “We’re here to put a dent in the universe. Otherwise, why else even be here?”

People with the most to teach live like they have the most to learn — and Steve loved learning. He was the most curious person I’ve ever met, which made him the best teacher I’ve ever known. Happy birthday, my friend.

A small feature that I would really love to have available in @figma: dividers inside the page panel! 🤞
