Quality education begins with creating a learning environment where all students feel safe, supported and able to focus on their education.
With proper #WASH facilities like this at Kiwangwa Secondary School, girls can now manage their periods with no fear, stay in school and continue pursuing their dreams.
Equipping young women with entrepreneurship skills not only helps them grow their businesses, but also empowers them to become innovative and bring positive contributions to their families, communities and the nation at large.

When proper WASH facilities are missed in schools, girls often suffer the most, they fail to manage hygiene during their menses leading to poor confidence, missed school days and poor academic performance.
The new facility addresses 60% of the school’s total toilet needs, helping create a safer, cleaner and more dignified learning environment for girls.
We are grateful to our Friends in the USA for supporting this important initiative that creates inclusive learning environments where every girl can learn, grow and reach her full potential.

Vijana wenye uelewa kuhusu afya na haki zao wanaweza kufanya maamuzi sahihi, kujilinda dhidi ya ukatili, na kuwa chachu ya mabadiliko chanya katika jamii.
Kupitia mradi wa Afya Yangu Haki Yangu, tunawajengea uwezo walimu na wanafunzi viongozi wa klabu kutoka shule tano Dar es Salaam kuhusu Stadi za Maisha,
kwa kushirikiana na Taasisi ya Elimu Tanzania, ili kuongeza uelewa na kujenga jamii salama.

We are so proud of our scholar, Antonia Mpangalala, on graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Cavendish University Uganda.
After earning her Diploma in 2021, Antonia did not stop. She continued pursuing her dreams with determination and perseverance.

We continue to ensure that girls do not miss school because of their periods.
In partnership with Diamond Trust Bank, we visited King’ong’o Secondary School to provide menstrual health and hygiene education and sanitary pads to girls in need.
Lack of access to menstrual products, accurate information, and proper menstrual hygiene can affect girls’ health, dignity, confidence, and ability to participate fully in school.
By addressing both menstrual health and period poverty, we are helping remove barriers to attendance, participation, and learning.
