We have a new (heavily revised) version of our paper "A Behavioral HANK model" with @FSeyrich
Including many new analytical and quantitative results regarding how behavioral expectations and heterogeneity interact.
All the details here: opfaeuti.github.io/website/B…
New working paper:
A Behavioral Heterogeneous Agent New Keynesian Model
by @PfaeutiEcon and @FSeyrich

It took a while, but we finally have a new (heavily revised) version out:

@FSeyrich
Very happy to see this out as my first NBER working paper!
We (@PfaeutiEcon, Jonathan Zinman, and I) study how heterogeneity in cognitive skills and overconfidence about those skills matters for observed household heterogeneity, the macroeconomy and fiscal policy.

I am very much looking forward to this year's "Konstanz Seminar on #MonetaryTheory and #MonetaryPolicy" taking place next week! I had a lot of fun putting together the program. We're especially honored that
@Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel will join us for a policy session.

!!!Paper alert!!!
We propose a novel endogenous gridpoint method for distributional dynamics - DEGM - that is fast, simple, efficient, and nonlinear.
Joint work with @christianbaye13 @mweiss_econ and @YanW1n .

Short thread:
Using new micro evidence to develop a HANK model with persistent heterogeneity in cognitive skills & overconfidence, greatly improving fit to macro data with fiscal policy implications, from @PfaeutiEcon, @fseyrich, and Jonathan Zinman nber.org/papers/w32305
1)income-targeted transfers less effective than in standard HANK w\ same avg MPC➡️distribution of MPCs matters
2)Minimum-income benefits lead to less crowd out of hhs’ prec. savings
3)Lower optimal public debt: liquidity less effective in bringing hhs away from borrowing limit
