An enjoyable afternoon talking to a full house about the 1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion in the First World War. We wandered through the battlefields of France and Belgium before heading to Italy and the Asiago Plateau, overlooking the Plain of Lombardy, for the final chapter.

It was great to see so many young people enjoying themselves, engaging confidently with guests, and being so enthusiastic about what they are doing and learning from cadet activities.A shining example of the benefits the movement bring our society.

The event was the latest in our Viney Lectures series, named after a founder of the Trust, Elliott Viney. Viney briefly commanded the Bucks Battalion in a last-ditch defence of Hazebrouck in N France in May, 1944.

As Chair of the Bucks Military Museum Trust I was pleased to drop in on the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Paul Trendall, to deliver items for display in his office.

The Trust has an extensive array of artefacts linked to the military history of the county. When we learned that Cllr Trendall was keen to have some military-related pieces on display in the Mayor's Parlour, we were happy to loan some items from our art and silver collections.

An @easyJet pilot in a @royalairforce uniform? 👀 It's not everyday that easyJet's COO flies from @LDNLutonAirport wearing a military flight suit. ✈️ But today we're paying tribute to those who balance civilian careers with service to our country. #ArmedForcesWeek #ReservesDay
