Woke up disappointed today.
Then I cooked Steak and Eggs.
Somewhere between the sizzle and the first bite, it hit me. Power shifts. It always has. Seasons change, people come and go, and none of it is new.
The steak and eggs are still on the plate.
So am I. Let's go!

The only good news from yesterday’s debacle is that Ron DeSantis is finally back in the national spotlight and maybe this time Republicans will have learned enough to listen to him

It's 1942. You're 21 years old in the German Sixth Army, and you're in Stalingrad.
When you got here in late summer, everyone said it would be over in weeks. The city was already in ruins from the bombing. All you had to do was take what was left.
It didn't work out like that.
Now you fight for single buildings. Single floors. Single rooms. The Russians are in the next room, or the floor above you, or the cellar below. You can hear them talking through the walls. A staircase can change hands three times in a day. The soldiers call it Rattenkrieg. Rat war.
You fight with grenades, shovels, knives, whatever works. Snipers are everywhere. Stick your head up for a second too long and you're dead. Men learn to never stand in front of a window, never light a cigarette at night, never walk the same path twice.
The Russians stay close on purpose. So close that the Luftwaffe can't bomb them without hitting you.
At night the Soviet rocket launchers open up. You hear them before they hit, a long howling scream from dozens of rockets fired at once. Then the ground explodes all around you.
Then, in November, the news comes that the Russians have broken through on both sides of the city. The whole army is surrounded. Around a quarter million men, trapped.
Everyone is told to hold on. Göring has promised the air force will fly in everything you need. It never comes close. Some days a few planes make it. Most days not enough.
Then winter comes.
It drops to 30 below. You don't have proper winter clothes. Men wrap themselves in blankets, rags, anything they can take off the dead. Frostbite turns fingers and toes black. Men lose feet. The ground is frozen too hard to bury anyone, so the bodies just stay where they fall.
The food runs out. Your bread ration gets smaller and smaller until it's a slice a day. The army eats its horses. Then there are no more horses. Men are so weak they can barely lift a rifle. Some just sit down in the snow and don't get up.
Everyone is covered in lice. You can't wash. You can't get warm. Wounds don't heal. Dysentery and typhus spread through the bunkers.
The airfields become the only way out. Wounded men drag themselves there hoping to get on a plane. When one lands, there's a crush to get aboard. Some men hang on to the outside of the plane as it takes off.
Christmas comes. Men sing in the bunkers and write letters home, knowing it might be the last thing their families ever hear from them. For a lot of them, it was.
By January the pocket is shrinking every day. The airfields fall. There's no ammunition left, no medicine, no food. The wounded are left in cellars where nobody can help them.
At the end of January 1943, the army surrenders.
Around 91,000 Germans were marched off into Soviet captivity. Most were sick, starving, and frozen when they started. Many died in the first weeks.
Only about 5,000 of them ever made it back to Germany. The last ones didn't come home until 1955.

It's 1941. You're 20 years old on a German U-boat in the North Atlantic, and it's the middle of the night.
The boat is about 220 feet long. There are around 50 men crammed inside. You share a bunk with someone on the opposite watch, so it's still warm when you climb into it. Sausages and hams hang from the pipes over your head. Loaves of bread are stuffed into every gap and they've gone white with mold. The crew calls them rabbits.
You haven't showered in weeks. Nobody has. The air is diesel fumes, sweat, wet wool, rotting food, and the bilge. Everything you own is damp. Water drips off the steel and runs down the walls.
Tonight a convoy has been found. Dozens of merchant ships and their escorts are somewhere ahead in the dark.
The boat runs in on the surface. Low in the water, she's almost impossible to see at night. Up on the bridge the officers are soaked by spray, staring through binoculars at black shapes against a slightly less black sky. You're down below. You can't see any of it. You just hear orders come down the hatch.
Torpedo tubes flooded. Doors open.
"Los!"
The boat jolts a little as each torpedo leaves. Then someone holds a stopwatch and calls out the seconds. Everyone in the control room is quiet, counting with him.
Then a dull boom rolls through the hull. Then another.
Later, if you're submerged nearby, you'll hear something worse. A ship going down makes noise. Groaning steel. Bulkheads giving way as she sinks. Some men never forget that sound. There are merchant sailors in the water up there, in the freezing dark, and you will never see a single one of their faces.
Then the escorts come.
"Alarm!"
Men race forward through the boat, diving through the round hatches, piling into the bow so the extra weight pushes her nose down faster. The deck tilts hard. Water roars into the tanks. You're under in less than a minute.
Then everything goes quiet. Silent running. Motors barely turning. No talking above a whisper. Nobody drops a tool. Nobody uses the toilet because the pump would make noise.
And then you hear it on the hull.
Ping.
The destroyer's sonar is touching the boat. You can hear it through the steel. Ping. Ping. It's faster now. They're closing in.
You can hear the propellers too, getting louder, passing right overhead. Somebody looks up at the ceiling like he can see through it.
Then the depth charges.
Sometimes you hear a faint click right before. Then the blast hits like the boat has been dropped on concrete. Lights burst. Glass on the gauges shatters. Cork insulation rains down. Men are thrown off their feet. Valves spring leaks and water sprays across the compartment. Somewhere a man is screaming and somebody puts a hand over his mouth.
Then they wait. And it starts again.
The commander takes the boat deeper than she was ever meant to go. The hull creaks and pops under the pressure. Every man aboard knows that if that steel gives, it's over in an instant.
This can go on for hours. The air gets thick. Carbon dioxide builds up and gives everyone pounding headaches. Men lie in their bunks breathing through cartridges to stay alive. Your heart pounds every time you hear the propellers coming back.
Some men pray. Some men cry. Some men just stare at the bulkhead.
If you survive, the boat surfaces hours later into the dark, and the fresh air coming down the hatch is the best thing you've ever smelled.
Then you go do it again.
Around 40,000 men served on German U-boats in World War II. About three out of every four never came home.

One path to victory in 2028 is a DeSantis/Rubio or Rubio/DeSantis ticket.
Ron DeSantis is incredibly Conservative and anyone who has been blessed to live in Florida will tell you how popular he and his governing style is.
Marco Rubio is well known for being incredibly talented and a master of multi-tasking. He is a generational talent.
America would be lucky to have this ticket.

I hate to say I warned you.
But I warned you.
What happened last night should be a wake-up call.
It wasn't because Democrats cheated.
It wasn't because accounts on X started criticizing Trump and the GOP a month before the election.
It happened because President Trump and the Republican Party failed to deliver on what mattered most to the American people.
Did you hear what I just f'n said?
THEY FAILED THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!
For the last four to six months, all I heard on X was the same recycled bullshit from the MAGA influencers.
"Pass the SAVE Act!"
"John Thune needs to go!"
"Trump has historic support!"
Kiss my red, white and blue blooded ass!
And because these f'n frauds kept repeating the same talking points, everyone else on X convinced themselves that everything was wonderful.
But here's what some of you desperately need to understand.
X IS NOT REAL LIFE.
If I walked up to 100 random Americans and asked them who Libs of TikTok or Dr. Clown was, I'd bet 99 of them wouldn't have a fcking clue what I was talking about.
And the 100th would probably ask me if Dr. Clown was accepting new patients.
That's how disconnected from reality some accounts on here have become.
They think because somebody has 2 million followers on X, they're a household name.
Meanwhile, the average American couldn't pick these people out of a police lineup if their life depended on it.
Nobody at the grocery store gives a shit about the latest viral AI video. Nobody at the gas pump is celebrating because an X influencer got 10,000 reposts.
INTERNET CELEBRITIES ARE NOT AMERICA.
You know what I saw outside of X?
I saw exhausted Americans.
People with bags under their eyes.
People stressed about their mortgages.
People struggling to afford groceries.
People watching their savings disappear.
People working their asses off and still falling behind.
People looking at their bank accounts and wondering how the hell they're going to make it through another month.
And I kept hearing the same heartbreaking sentence.
"I don't know what I'm going to do."
THAT was the America I was talking about.
THAT was the American who voted last night.
Not the America you see in your carefully curated timeline.
And for the last month, I tried telling you about how ordinary Americans were reaching their breaking point.
And what happened?
You called me a traitor.
You told me I wasn't a real conservative.
You attacked me for daring to criticize our president.
You treated legitimate concerns about people's financial struggles like some kind of betrayal.
Well, guess what?
You can silence criticism inside your little MAGA bubble, but you cannot silence reality outside of it.
I'm pissed off because I saw the warning signs, spoke up about them, and watched people attack anyone who dared acknowledge them.
And now some of those same people are looking everywhere for someone to blame.
Here's my message.
Stop blaming everyone who warned you and start holding the people in power accountable.
Because here's the reality that no social media cheerleading can change.
Americans don't pay their mortgages with political slogans.
They don't fill their refrigerators with presidential approval posts.
And they sure as hell don't pay their electric bills with stupid f'n AI videos mocking Democrats.
These MAGA grfiters spent months telling people how great America was doing.
But voters spent those same months wondering how they were going to survive.
And that disconnect is exactly what I've been trying to tell you about.
You can win every argument on X and still lose touch with the country.
Because at the end of the day, Americans don't live inside your timeline.
They live inside their budgets.

🚨What happens if Trump loses the House and Senate?
Clinton & Obama already set precedent.
They weren't done at all in their last 2 years.
Victor Davis Hanson explains:
Clinton fell to 37% approval but left office at about 66%. In between, he was impeached but not convicted and bombed Serbia for 78 days without Congress.
Obama's approval fell to 38% and still left office near 60%. He bombed Libya in 2011 without Congress, ran hundreds of drone strikes in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia, and started bombing ISIS in Iraq and Syria in 2014 without a new vote. He said "I've got a pen and I've got a phone," and skipped the Senate on the Iran deal and Paris.
Low approval and a hostile Congress didn't finish them. For both, it was the best thing that ever happened to them in some ways.

Long post worth the read. I have a close friend who flies private jets. He flew Lear 60 for over 15 years and now flies a Gulfstream. This is a copy and paste of his response to me asking him if he thought Ice was the issue.
“We always fly in ridiculous cold temperatures.”
“Usually you get the bad ice when the temperatures are like 0 to negative 20. Believe it or not, there's a point where it gets too cold for ice. At negative 40, you pretty much can't get ice. Besides that, the airplane is equipped with hot wings and hot tail.”
“I flew the Lear 60 for like 15 years. It's a no joke airplane and probably the most dangerous airplane I've ever flown. It has a super critical wing. The airflow has to be perfect. When it gets into rough air and turbulence, it will easily stall. It has stalled on me at 41,000 feet just because we got into some turbulence. (On the way to Palm Beach as a matter of fact. ) we recovered and got her flying again around 30,000 ft. Scary
But here's the problem. This airplane has a terrible coffin corner. (At high altitudes) what that means is, you fly in a really narrow window where if you lose 20 knots, it stalls. And if you gain 20 knots, it goes into overspeed. The air goes supersonic over the wing and it goes into a high speed stall, or worse, a Mach tuck.
So if you stall, the normal recovery is to push the yoke forward to lower the nose and gain air speed again. At low altitude, you can push really hard and recover quickly. But in the 60... if you push hard, it will gain air speed and go into a high speed stall, it doesn't take much. It's very sensitive. The 60 has super short wings that don't make much lift. So then you high speed stall, and the computer is yelling at you... OVERSPEED! So then you pull back and enter a low speed stall. And you go back and forth trying to keep it in the air speed window.
This whole thing is pretty scary. And you should recover basically by using your finger tips using super small corrections. You can't over do it. If you try to muscle the recovery, she gets mad and will become unrecoverable. If she enters a mach tuck. You're done.”
“I taught the Lear 60 to other pilots and mentored them. I told them... this airplane has a soul and it's trying to kill you. Do not ever try to top the weather. Don't go over a thunderstorm. Go around it. If it means a half hour longer, then do it. Going over the thunderstorm will go into turbulence that you might not recover from.
These pilots went right over a thunderstorm. I think it stalled which caused them to drop down into the thunderstorm and ended up in mach tuck. They picked up so much speed that it ripped off the horizontal stabilizer. At that point... chuck Yeager can't fix it.
These same pilots did something similar a couple months ago. ATC got mad at them. They poked the bear one too many times.
This is not a beginner airplane. The Gulfstream would never do this. It has HUGE margins of error and won't stall like that. But then again... it's got HUGE wings. It's a pussy cat.
The Gulfstream is like driving a 4 wheeler. The Lear 60 is like riding a uni cycle.”

I want to thank President Trump for all he did to try to win the mid-terms. His efforts were Herculean. And an additional thanks for all he does every day for our country and each of us. In politics, there will always be setbacks. Sometimes those setbacks are big. Barack Obama and Bill Clinton suffered horrible mid-term loses. It didn't stop them and God knows nothing will stop you.
