My last entry for #DeanStreetDecember is another Molly Clavering's, & another success: BECAUSE OF SAM (1954) bit.ly/3PaDzqO - a delightful way of ending 1 of the most fun reading events of the year! Thanks @LyzzyBee_Libro for hosting, & @DeanStPress for the reprints.

My 4th #DeanStreetDecember and also 4th D.E. Stevenson: KATE HARDY (1947) bit.ly/4iIx1gN - not my favorite perhaps, but it's charming and witty, with a bit of mystery. @LyzzyBee_Libro @DeanStPress @FurrowedMiddle
Up on the blog today, my review of A WINTER AWAY (1957) by Elizabeth Fair for #DeanStreetDecember: bit.ly/3P129uf @DeanStPress @LyzzyBee_Libro

Introverts have a dark side. They keep it hidden. Their anger is slow, but once they reach boiling point, there is no controlling them. This is why they avoid conflict. An upset introvert is dangerous, unpredictable, and ruthlessly cold. Never push them. Ever.
Another review for #DeanStreetDecember, another wholesome read: NEAR NEIGHBOURS by Molly Clavering bit.ly/4gbW5eq - loved everything about it, the characters, family interactions, the warmth and kindness that permeate throughout the story. @DeanStPress @LyzzyBee_Libro

On the blog today, I reviewed a fascinating debut of historical mystery set in 18th century China, with an imperial librarian as the sleuth: JADE DRAGON MOUNTAIN (2015) by Elsa Hart bit.ly/3ZHULtM
My 1st review for #DeanStreetDecember is BABBACOMBE'S (1941) by Susan Scarlett bit.ly/49qN5zr - a charming book, reminded me not a little of Zola's The Ladies Paradise! @LyzzyBee_Libro @DeanStPress
This would probably be my top favorite read this year: THE ART OF HEARING HEARTBEATS (2002) by Jan-Philipp Sendker bit.ly/3ATCxMC - a magnificent book; tender, poignant, touching, so beautifully written.
#DeanStreetDecember hosted by @LyzzyBee_Libro is just around the corner. Here's my rather ambitious DEAN STREET DECEMBER READING LIST: bit.ly/416t5jm @DeanStPress
My last review for #NonFicNov24 is a nonfiction-that-reads-like-fiction: NEVER CRY WOLF (1963) by Farley Mowat bit.ly/4g2TClX - a book that will change your views on wolves; inspiring, touching, and funny. @LyzzyBee_Libro @debnance
My 2nd #NonFicNov24 review: THE GOLDEN MOLE: AND OTHER VANISHING TREASURE (2022) by Katherine Rundell bit.ly/4g1dAhc - getting to know more of some endangered & exotic animals, and how they had affected many lives in history. @LyzzyBee_Libro @debnance
