I don’t know what happened but my timeline is filled with people “testing” the iPhone duo but it’s all videos like this followed by commentary about how it isn’t sturdy

Playoff flag football today (6 years old, not that serious) No one wanted to play. One kid, Jack, reminded me no less than 20 times that he “didn’t want to play and hoped that we lost” We got smoked. I asked my son what was going on. He went into the kitchen when we got home and returned with this. Welcome to the party, pal

Hate to see Baywood Greens, the Augusta of the North, tarnished by these goons. Bet you boys didn’t hole out for eagle from the island fairway on #14

Using the curbside parking spot at target even though I’m going into the store. Why? Because there’s no other parking spots. And they’re the best ones. Become ungovernable

Days are long. Challenges and decisions come fast and furious against a brain that seems to have reached capacity (low threshold to begin with) AI advancements that I can only pretend to understand. Aging parents. Growing children. Doing enough? Doing too much? Doing wrong? Doing well? Above ground another day is a day worth smiling about. No joke, leaving your house in the Morning and returning home safely everyday day is something to give God thanks for.

There’s a long list of songs that I classify as being on the “soundtrack” of my life. These two hit the playlist back to back on my commute home tonight. “Paper Shoes”by Incubus. Album came out in November 2006. Hearing it puts me right back in my dorm, listening on my first computer, or on my 40 minute walk to class in the morning. (I hadn’t figured out the bus schedule yet) “I need my girl” by The National. Played this what must have been every night for weeks when my first daughter was born in 2019. This one transports me to our first house in Mt Washington, in the dark with the white noise machine whirring I like the soundtrack of my life

A week ago I listed 20 items on eBay, not thinking any of them would actually sell. 18 of them sold which means I now have to ship 18 items

First successful outcome I've captured using @bot for non-work/business. Provided all of my home/auto insurance policy documents and costs, and asked it to obtain new quotes online as well as communicating with my broker to work on the existing coverage. - received quotes from a few online providers - found a state farm contact in my emails who provides my life insurance and emailed asking for a quote based on my existing coverage details - replied to state farm ensuring they knew about my stupid flat roof (state farm had missed that detail and had to withdraw) - compared all options and explained any jargon - flagged potentially excessive personal property coverage on my existing policy and asked the broker to quote the renewal at a more accurate amount X Subscription: $300 Savings: $595 Time Spent: 5 minutes

All middle-aged men should go on annual guys-only trips with friends. It's essential for a healthy, balanced life. If you don't go on one, organize it yourself.

In 2005, 17 year old Matt obtained a job at Hollister. My very first shift, they assigned me to the back of the store and said that my primary job would be attaching the anti-theft devices to new shipments of clothing. I asked about working in the front of the store with customers and other humans, and I was told that I “didn’t meet their front of store criteria” Confused, I asked for the criteria to be explained. I received a generic response of some kind with no actual answer. Obviously, I abandoned my post and found a front of store co-worker to see what I could learn. She looked at me with what I now recognize as a great deal of pity. She showed me a checklist that the store manager used to evaluate “talent” which was all physical attributes and overall appearance. I was ugly. Anyways, a copy of the recently released Death Cab for Cutie album, Plans, somehow found its way from a shelf and into my oversized cargo shorts and I walked out, never to return. One of my favorite albums. Makes me think of the girl who had to tell me I wasn’t good looking enough to be seen by customers.

I’ve received a number of very nice sweaters over the years as gifts. Many have tags and prices I would never consider for a sweater. Never worn, so I listed them on eBay today. Started getting messages and bids and wondered if I was making a mistake. I canceled the listings. I’m a sweater guy now

4 kids. 2 church services (kids sing in the choir) One has a school friend birthday at Chuck e Cheese, so I need to bring all four. $84 spent before the smell of a Marlboro red even hits my nostril. 3 have cried. I’ve been here for 7 minutes. Happy Sunday
