The future of our local colleges, is under real threat. Years of underfunding mean that colleges cannot cover the true costs of running essential courses. The result is clear: fewer courses, fewer options for learners.

The EIS-FELA Statutory Ballot, relating to the national pay dispute, closes on 16 Jan. Time is running out to ensure your vote is counted. Please post your ballot papers by the end of this week & make sure that your vote arrives with the independent scrutineer. #FightingForFE
Once staff at Dundee & Angus College find themselves fighting for a fair pay deal! I can’t remember a year without a pay dispute🤦🤷@GraemeDeyMSP @CollegesScot @scotgov You can prevent further impact on our learners by providing Fair Funding for FE. Without Job loss @EISFela

Learning Support Lecturers have, quite literally, been decimated @CofGCollege since 2016. The last 2, who offer specialist 1:1 study skills, part funded by DSA/SAAS, are at risk of redundancy whilst their specialism is outsourced, privatised, costing the tax payer more £. – at Glasgow, Scotland

It is, Laura. We'll struggle to replace a lot of that experience & talent. It's a disgrace our goverment sits idly by & watches the havoc & destruction being wrecked upon our sector. #Judgemeonmyrecordoneducation

It’s heartbreaking to see some of the best people I have known haemorrhage from the sector 😢
Seems like funding/jobs/courses/student places in Scottish colleges have disappeared in the blink of an eye. Suppose that's what happens when the HE/FE Minister doesn't do his Dey job, sits back & allows the demise of working class education #judgemeonmyrecordoneducation

Privatisation/outsourcing of vital education services @CofGCollege It’s happening now in that wee, progressive country of ours!!! @HumzaYousaf @BBCScotNine @GraemeDeyMSP @JennyGilruth @neilcgray @theSNP @theSNPMedia

Tomorrow we stand in solidarity with all college teaching & support staff & shame on you for not having the guts to do the same. ✊🏼❤️ @EISFela @unisonscot @CogcEis @edincol_eisfela

If a fair pay award can’t be delivered for Lecturers without additional @scotgov funding; why is it that @CollEmployScot are not very publicly banging down the door for more money?
They don’t want us to get a pay rise? They want redundancies? Trying to protect their own egos? 🤷♂️

Tomorrow FE in Scotland will grind to a halt due to a national strike day. @EISFela lecturers along with @unisonscot support staff will walk out and without them, the colleges say they can’t run. Read that again, without THEM, colleges cannot run. 👇🏼

Everyone - please just take a minute and find out what is happening right now in Scottish FE. Shocking. Shameful.
@scotgov we are not accepting FE being put down without a fight! @GraemeDeyMSP we will not go quietly
It’s time to fight for FE. Don’t let the few destroy the essence of FE and turn it into a commercial entity. #fairfundingforfe

EIS Reps have recently been provided with a Branch Survey, and will be consulting members to form a response. All branches are encouraged to complete the survey, which will provide comprehensive data from across Scotland and assist with our Stand Up For Quality Education campaign

A clear example of the paymasters and ‘Government’ treating lecturers and learners with utter contempt. This won’t end well for either constituency. Solidarity, always ✊ – at Edinburgh, Scotland

This can no longer be ignored by @CollEmployScot or @ScotGovEdu, because the impact on our communities (especially working class ones) of the decline of FE will be irrecoverable. Sort it out @GraemeDeyMSP We won’t stop #FightingforFE ever, because it changes lives ✊🏼❤️
