Off to Paris tomorrow. 🇫🇷 Until then, @m0dest___ ’s “I’ll Deal With It Tomorrow” feels like the right mindset. 🔥

This has nothing to do with “student protests over the conditions of their education.” 😤 This is simply an appetite for violence directed at capitalism and the authorities. I condemn this in the strongest possible terms, especially the widespread looting. These criminal acts must have serious consequences, and I fully support decisive law enforcement action against all forms of criminal behavior. Otherwise, France risks tearing itself apart. I’ll be in Paris next week to see the situation for myself, and I sincerely hope that guests of Art Basel and its side events won’t suffer from this violence as well.

I have to agree with @osseneth here. But I think the reasons go much deeper than that. From my perspective, @pudgypenguins have nothing to do with art. It’s a community built around a toy company. Nothing more, nothing less. Now take a moment to think about that. What kind of value does such a community actually create? Where does that value come from? And perhaps most importantly, what is it really worth?
I genuinely believe Adam means well here, and supporting a community you love is admirable. 🖤 But a floor held up by one wallet isn’t a recovery. Small collectors who buy in on this signal will be the ones left holding when the support isn’t there anymore.

And don’t get me wrong! I love Adam’s support for the space and for his friend @LucaNetz and we absolutely need PFP collections like these. They’re part of the culture, the community, and the fun. But the question remains: Is there a deeper meaning beyond all that? Something that can endure for decades, centuries, or perhaps even forever? Something that makes future generations look back and say, “Wow, they explored something truly new and changed the way we see the world!”. Hey @pudgypenguins, prove me wrong! I’d genuinely love to be convinced otherwise. 😉

As a European, I feel deeply embarrassed by what is being presented in Strasbourg under the roof of the European Parliament. Political criticism is legitimate. Art may provoke. But an institution representing hundreds of millions of Europeans should understand the difference between criticism and humiliation. I would like to apologize to our American friends for this display of political judgment. Those responsible should at the very least explain publicly why they considered this appropriate — and take responsibility for the damage it does to the dignity of the institution they represent. 😤
A giant golden statue depicting a naked Donald Trump has gone on display inside one of the European Parliament’s buildings. The 8.5ft-tall sculpture, named Orange Plague, shows the nude US president holding justice scales and a long golf club with a golf ball made to look like the world ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

Wow, what a journey! 🤯 Congrats Danny and thanks for sharing your farewell thoughts! 🙏🏼 All of this started with buying a single digital asset for $18k. A crazy world in which you can buy a digital identity, turn it into a personal brand and ultimately into a cultural asset that creates opportunities and economic value far beyond the token itself. But now comes the really fascinating question: Was #8348 the brand — or did Danny make #8348 the brand? If so much of its cultural relevance and value was created through Danny’s identity, visibility, music, collaborations and story over the past six years, can all of that really be transferred seamlessly to a new owner? Can the new owner build on that legacy and benefit from it in the same way? And perhaps most importantly: can the Punk itself maintain its cultural and monetary value once the person who made it iconic moves on? That might be the most interesting experiment of all.
END OF AN ERA. A NEW CHAPTER AWAITS. As you’ve probably heard, I’ve said goodbye to CryptoPunk #8348 for $5.9M. This wasn’t an easy decision. I spent months flip-flopping on whether to sell, but after more than six years, I felt it was time. This Punk became my identity, so there was a lot more to think about than just the price. I wanted to write this earlier, but the transaction literally happened in a beer tent at Oktoberfest... So I needed some time to collect my thoughts. The 2021 NFT mania was insane. It gave me the opportunity to explore digital identity in ways I never expected when I bought 8348 in 2020 for $18,000. I DJ’d across Europe, North America and the Middle East, worked with luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Swarovski (with mmERCH) and Dolce & Gabbana, and helped curate art events in Miami, Ibiza and London. I also released original music, vinyl records, merchandise, and much more. Looking back, I accomplished a lot with this Punk. But the landscape has changed considerably since then, and my interests and priorities have evolved too. Over the last 12–18 months, I’ve been winding down parts of the Seedphrase business and refocusing on what’s next. That’s meant going back to my roots in trading, which was my focus before 2020, taking on new challenges in gaming with Wolf Game, and exploring new possibilities with AI. On the creative side, I want to see what I can do under my own name. DJing without a helmet, playing more of my own taste in music, and being more involved in the art scene as Danny. I’ve spent six years building an identity around 8348, and I’m ready to give myself a bit more freedom to explore outside of that. I’m proud of what we built with this Punk. Selling it doesn’t change that, or my interest in the space. There’s still plenty I want to do here. I won’t reveal the new owner’s identity. They’re welcome to come forward in their own time. One of the first things I asked was that they be a good custodian of such a legendary CryptoPunk, and they’ve assured me they will. 8348 has been a huge part of my life since 2020. It’s strange to move on from something so many people know me by, but I’m excited to put that same energy into what comes next. You’ll be seeing more of me. Just without the helmet (and with fewer traits).

Proud to spot myself — with my PFP from @m0dest___’s Death & Taxes — right at the beginning, and then again a little bit later, in this amazing video by @ditacrypto! 👏🏼😀❤️🥳 Thanks, man — absolutely awesome! And thanks @johnkarp for sharing!! ❤️
Replying to @ditacrypto
@ditacrypto is not on the wall yet. But he has always been around, making films for us — and he just sent me this. The people of the wall, in the streets of Lisbon, all the way to Unicorn Factory. Which artists do you recognize?

Just added two works by @emilyxxie to the collection: Memories of Qilin #1012 and Interwoven #21. For me, Emily is one of the artists who best connects the history of generative art with cultural memory, craft and materiality. "Memories of Qilin" is one of her defining works: an @artblocks_io Curated series of 1,024 fully on-chain pieces from 2022, inspired by Chinese brush painting, Japanese woodblock prints and East Asian mythology. "Interwoven", released in 2023, takes that exploration further into textiles and quilting. Created as part of @LACMA´s Remembrance of Things Future initiative, the series of only 100 works was inspired by Martha Lou Jones’ 1896 Bullseye Quilt from the museum’s collection — turning code into something that almost feels handmade. And the timing feels particularly good: Emily will be part of @ArtBasel Miami Beach 2026, presented by Art Blocks in the Zero 10 / Generation section dedicated to art of the digital era. Very happy to finally have these two important chapters of her practice in the collection. 😎

Feels like ages ago, but it’s now fresher than ever. 😎
Looking back at our @neonrealgallery show in May 2023, this work feels almost eerily timely again. Together with Florian Kuhlmann, we presented this triptych around the changing nature of money, images and ownership on-chain. Parts of the triptych are still available — including the unique 1/1 work. The minting page for the edition is in the comments. 👇

I just minted "Fuck cancer (Who said fragile II)" by @mariafynsknorup which is now live on @TransientLabs. Minting now! My dad died of cancer at 67. From the diagnosis a year before until his passing, it was a horrible time for all of us. But there was one beautiful moment in the middle of it all: he got to meet my daughter — his first and only grandchild — one day after she was born. It somehow felt as if this was the one thing he still wanted to experience. After that, he deteriorated incredibly fast and died just one week later. So much grief, pain and joy compressed into just a few days. It was traumatic. And unforgettable. Fuck cancer. transient.xyz/mint/fuck-canc…
