Louisiana Department of Corrections and Public Safety decision is less about religious liberty and more about the Spending Clause: “On a closer read, this isn’t really a religious liberty opinion as much as it’s a Spending Clause opinion.”

Federalist Society retweeted
"They want the Constitution to mean whatever they want it to mean." Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito discusses originalism on "Life, Liberty & Levin," explaining his view that the Constitution should be interpreted according to the meaning of its words when they were adopted. Alito contrasts that approach with interpretations that allow the Constitution's meaning to change over time. @marklevinshow

Checkout this "Weekend Must-Watch" video - an interview by @ShannonBream of Justice Samuel Alito. The interview includes an important discussion about the rising threats against the Justices and calls for "court-packing" and whether these are attempted "intimidation" of the Justices to change how they vote.

On the metaphor of Justices-as-umpires (popularized by Chief Justice Roberts): Alito said judges are like umps in that they both have to make judgment calls and that's why Alito is a "practical originalist," saying "In the end, if that's what it says, then that's what the decision has to be. But we shouldn't happily accept results that seem to make no sense." @JanCBS 11/12

The whole article by @jancbs includes much more, a remarkably candid conversation with Justice Alito that makes this article a must-read. One of the most important contributions of the article is the discussion about how threats to the Justices have escalated as an intimidation tactic - but that those threats will not deter Justice Alito from changing how he interprets the Constitution. 12/12
