Jack Ainsley interview after today’s 4-1 away victory felixstowefootball.co.uk/10/…

FT - @BHFC_1st 1 @Felixseasiders 4 Felixstowe & Walton United enjoyed a successful first-ever visit to Buckhurst Hill, returning home with a richly deserved three @IsthmianLeague points following an impressive performance that was built on an outstanding first-half display. The visitors made an ideal start, taking the lead after just eight minutes. Bruno Tavares delivered a dangerous cross into the penalty area and Tom Warren was on hand to hammer the ball home, giving Felixstowe an early advantage. Warren was instrumental again ten minutes later as Felixstowe doubled their lead. The forward sent another cross into the danger area, and a defensive mix-up presented Josh Hitter with the opportunity to convert from close range, putting the visitors firmly in control. Felixstowe continued to dictate proceedings, with the opening period largely one-way traffic as Buckhurst Hill struggled to contain their opponents’ attacking threat. The visitors’ dominance was rewarded with a third goal in the 38th minute. Following a scramble inside the penalty area, Josh Mayhew found himself with space to shoot from six yards and made no mistake, giving Felixstowe a commanding three-goal cushion heading into the interval. Buckhurst Hill emerged with greater purpose after the break and began to offer more resistance. Their improved efforts paid off on the hour mark when Max Gnandi found the net, reducing the deficit to 3-1 and briefly raising hopes of a revival. However, Felixstowe remained composed and ensured there would be no dramatic comeback. The visitors restored their three-goal advantage in the 79th minute when Ethan Garcia delivered a cross into the penalty area. A bullet header from a home defender ended up in his own net, sealing the result at 4-1. It was a convincing away victory for Felixstowe, whose clinical finishing and first-half superiority laid the foundations for three valuable points on their historic first trip to Buckhurst Hill.

HT - Buckhurst Hill 0 Seasiders 3 Felixstowe firmly in the driving seat in London. Tom Warren (8), Josh Hitter (18) & Josh Mayhew (38) on target. 🎯
