I believe in reaching out to people and sitting down to talk.
I wish you luck. Personally it would be more productive to bang your head against a brick wall.😑☘

To be honest I think it is simply because she has not understood how this legislation works and is making ill informed assumptions. That is why I would like to meet her.
I seriously can't believe ive just read this @FigenMurray! DISLIKE?!?! It'll be interesting to know why if she won't agree to meet you! Keep us posted. Beggars belief!

Ha, it should never be for anything other than security risks.
I'll continue to cherish my time over here! I have nothing against security checks for terrorism reasons and fully support them. My issue is when those checks are for fruit and sandwiches!

Have not got the heart and time to explore other platforms and decided I will stay on but will only do very occasional tweets.

Our Executive Director for Martyn's Law, Laura Gibb, featured on the panel: 'Martyn's Law: Dispelling the Myths', chaired by @FigenMurray. The panel addressed misinformation surrounding the Act, and Laura reiterated our role as a supportive, proportionate and robust regulator.

Please go in the ProtectUK website and look at what Martyn's Law actually is and how it works. Lots of misinformation by Katie Lam.
2/2 Is this decision Reasonable ? Affordable? and Proportional? For instance could the community create a pool of suitably trained volunteers? (And how many of us have faith in many contract security providers?)

I would suggest you go on the ProtectUK website and check out the two minute animations to explain a lot around the legislation. You have misunderstood as you probably only read what Katie Lam wrote. She also does not understand it.

I am inviting @Katie_Lam_MP to have a meeting to discuss her dislike of this legislation and explain to her why it is so important. I hope she will agree to meet.

I had a private meeting with Graham Foulkes a few years ago. Sadly his son ,David ,was killed by my brother in law in London 2005 ,Edgware Road. I hope my work has helped others ,and brings some healing to a fractured world.🙏

A poignant tribute at Buckingham Palace to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11. We remember those who lost their lives, and those who showed extraordinary courage in the face of terror. We will never forget them, and we will always stand with our American friends.

Yes it was and thankfully a lot of the meetings have been on teams.
And Those ministers and home office team you met with, made a difference. Surely that was worth the train ride.

Gosh, I wish No. 10 North already existed. I lost count of how many times I trailed down to London to have meetings with ministers and the home office team over the past 8 years. Make it happen @andyburnham
Is it really so strange?
