Dear trader,
You know what's frustrating?
It's not always that you don't know what to do. Sometimes you know exactly what to do, and you still don't do it.
You said you'd stop after two losses, but then you took another trade.
You said you'd wait for your setup, but you entered early because price was moving and you didn't want to miss it.
You said you'd leave the charts alone for the day, but somehow you're back again, trying to make something happen.
And afterward, you're there asking yourself, "Why do I keep doing this?"
I've been thinking about how easy it is to turn these moments into a whole story about ourselves. I have no discipline. I'll never get this right. Maybe I'm just not cut out for trading.
But calling yourself names won't fix the problem.
You still have to look at what happened. What were you feeling before you took that trade? Were you trying to recover a loss? Were you bored? Did you keep trading because stopping meant accepting how the day went?
Be honest with yourself, even when the answer isn't flattering.
And if this keeps happening, maybe another promise to do better isn't enough. Maybe you need a hard stop on your platform, a smaller risk, or a rule that makes it harder to keep trading when your emotions are all over the place.
Whatever it is, take it seriously.
You don't have to hate yourself to admit that your choices are hurting your progress.
But please, don't keep making the same decision and expect a different result just because you feel bad about it afterward.
Let's work on the part that happens before the regret.
