A few weeks ago @MotherwellFC very kindly sent Steelman down to Firpark PS to help celebrate our Fabulous Footballers at our Awards Ceremony. The children all had a great time!
Since the start of January, Room 9 have been working with scientists from @ClydeRF to help develop brown trout to be ready to be released into a local river. They’ve loved their topic and worked with their scientist, Jen, to release them in the Clyde valley last Thursday.
We would like to thank the @FCparentcouncil for their generosity! Thanks to them we now have a wonderful subscription to ‘Brick Borrow’ which gives us the chance to loan two sets of Lego at a time. Once the builds are complete we post it back and choose a new kit. Thanks again 😁
We want to say a massive thank you to Robert at @MotherwellFC for our visit on Wednesday. Room 15 pupils are learning all about Motherwell and enjoyed a stadium tour as part of our learning. We were super excited to meet some of the players too! ⚽️⭐️
Today we had our first session with @Project_Ability as part of our ‘Campus Connections’ project to create fabric art work to be displayed in a shared area of the Campus. This is a six week project and we’ll share with you the finished product when complete. 😁
Last week we had our first ‘Campus Connections’ meeting with pupils representing Firpark, Clydeview and Cathedral. The children will be working on a range of projects over the course of the year which they were all very excited about.
Wishing all our new pupils a great first day at Firpark Primary School. Also wishing our former P7s and other leavers a successful start to their new high schools.
Happy Summer Holidays from all of us here at Firpark Primary. We hope you all have the best time and we are looking forward to seeing you all back in August. Thank you all for your continued support 😊⭐️

23/24 has been a blast. Our hard work resulted in a new transition policy. We received significant recognition from @EducationScot for the work we do ! We brought some magic to our schools. We are off to recharge for 24/25. Have a wonderful summer @ClydeviewPS @FirparkPrimary
What a lovely treat we had at Firpark yesterday, thanks to the @FCparentcouncil. Every pupil got a wonka bar with one lucky winner in each class getting a golden ticket. The lucky winner got a prize which they collected from Mrs Webster but the class also got a prize too! 🍫
Well done to our lucky raffle winner of the signed Motherwell top donated by @FCparentcouncil. All boys and girls who have attended Willie’s football on Mondays over the year were put into a raffle to win this great prize. ⚽️🟠⚽️🟠

There are so many benefits to sensory play. We as Occupational Therapists often recommend that sensory play is incorporated into every young person’s day to support them in their activities of daily living. Do you have any other sensory toy ideas?

Today we are going to look at gross motor toy ideas. Gross motor toys can incorporate bilateral coordination, motor planning, coordination, proprioceptive input and vestibular input. All of these areas work together in functional tasks and all are rooted in gross motor skills.
Thanks to our friends @TescoWishaw and our Pr2 family for donating pumpkins 🎃 all used in our competition this year.
