Did you know that there are at least 300 veterans on death row in the United States? Many of these men and women experienced serious trauma—mental and physical—over the course of their military service, often left untreated and unaddressed. We need to do better by our veterans.
On this day, we honor and thank all those who have served. I also would like to remind everyone that minimum mandatory sentencing schemes are tragic even for our veterans who have served honorably, but are serving draconian sentences due to a lack of true #cjreform
