Nithya filed on the last day. Virtually the entire political establishment in the city came out against her. Incredible win, great day for Los Angeles.

🔥 JON STEWART ON @SenSchumer: “Someone has to meet this moment… you need to do is remove that system of seniority from Democratic politics. It’s a bullshit system and it needs to go. Schumer fought tooth and nail against half of these fucking people.”

Here is AIPAC reminding Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer who their boss is.
Any wonder why these two so call leaders came out with limp dick statements that we the people don't want accountability.
Are they fucking kidding me? They cannot be leaders anymore
Hakeem Jeffries didn’t support universal healthcare so will you call for a new speaker? Asking as your constituent @PramilaJayapal 👋🏾

They will squander everything we fought for and won Tuesday night. Jeffries and Shumar gotta go!

There really should be enough votes in the House and Senate to pass a bill lowering the Medicare age to 50, and maybe I’m crazy, but there’s a nonzero Trump actually signs it as a way to try to go out with a good legacy, own the previous Dem presidents and get the last laugh.
I’m not saying there’s a good chance, I’m just saying there’s a nonzero chance because that dude is The Joker and so you just never know. Seems worth a shot!

House Democrats: CHOOSE A NEW SPEAKER - Sign the Petition! c.org/BhhVMNqXmK via @Change
A reminder to call your reps and senators and suggest they NOT vote to make @hakeemjeffries #speakerofthehouse and NOT make @SenSchumer #senatemajorityleader . #DemocraticParty voters have stated in polling that these weak-tea corporate Dems are unpopular by a wide margin.

Most Democratic voters want to replace Schumer, polling since 2025 consistently shows. This is not some fringe or "progressive" position. I'm not even sure it's primarily ideological. Schumer is 75, stumbles while speaking, was hospitalized last year - he's not up to the job

Jeffries and Schumer bear responsibility for the astonishing passivity of Congressional Democrats in the last two years. They could have organized local and state resistance efforts to rescue programs killed by DOGE and Trump, to keep scientific research alive, to organize universities, law firms, media, and corporations to resist Trump's intimidation. They could have held press conferences and posted videos every single day to call out Trump's corruption and present an alternative vision for the country. Chris Murphy did it, others did it.
But not the leaders.
We will have no presidential candidate for 18 months. The task of presenting a vision that will lead America back from the darkness will fall to these two men. I wish I felt more confident they are up to the task.

If the @TheDemocrats don’t remove @RepJeffries and @SenSchumer from their leadership positions (and from our screens) within the next 24 hours, they’re going to fumble more political capital and momentum than has ever been fumbled before.

Remember: Hakeem Jeffries is not "incompetent". He’s playing the exact role he’s supposed to play for corporate donors: a powerful centrist paid to collaborate with conservatives to be an obstacle in the way of meaningful left populist change & socialist momentum.

Sorry, but as a Black man who understands our responsibility as descendants of enslaved Africans in America
I must RIGOROUSLY and FEVERISHLY OPPOSE a Black Zionist being elevated to Speaker of the House
We simply cannot afford a Black person with that much power supporting Genocide directly or tacitly
the SOUL OF BLACK FOLK is on the line and we are being weighed against the Arc of the Moral Universe.
No on Hakeem Jeffries.

Notice that Schumer is pushing off a commitment to end the war until NEXT YEAR.
But @VanHollenForMD and @RoKhanna are calling on Democrats to block the funding that comes with the continuing resolution on December 11th.
CNN: Schumer vows to end Iran war and investigate Trump when Democrats control Congress
Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer vowed Democrats will end the war in Iran through the “power of the purse” next year when they take control of the Senate.
“We are going to end the war. We’ve got some Republicans who have joined us in ending the war and the Founding Fathers had the power of the purse as one of the ways of deterring a president who does war without the consent of the American people,” Schumer said at a Capitol Hill news conference, a day after Democrats won the majority in the chamber.

I cant stress that I never once heard anything about unity at any door I knocked in the multiple swing districts I canvassed in and all of which turned blue.
Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face.
These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first.
We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy.
While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.
